TCP Optimizer provides an easy way to optimize Windows' networking parameters. The developers tried to take into account all related RFCs, the Microsoft TCP/IP implementation oddities and verify that only the necessary Registry parameters were changed.

Wink is a tutorial/presentation creation software, primarily aimed at creating tutorials on how to use software (like a tutor for MS-Word/Excel etc). Using Wink you can capture screenshots, add explanations boxes, buttons, titles etc. and generate a highly effective tutorial for your users.

The extract process below is a portable wrapper for Wink that writes settings to the application folder instead of the registry.

USBFlashCopy backs up/synchronizes from external storage on the fly. The program runs in the background and copies all or select files from inserted media to a destination of your choice. Includes available copy throttle speed, minimum free space check to avoid filling up your drive, file filters, and can even be set to only copy from selected drives (by serial number).

New drives plugged in are prompted for a new copy profile and transfers include a progress bar. Ideal for people who do much of their work on remote computers and need to automate the process of backing up their files.

Functional in 64-bit. Note that fully transparent operations (no user notification; runs entirely in background) are only available in the registered version.

Bulk Rename Utility allows you to batch rename files and folders based on very flexible, configurable criteria. You can add date-stamps, replace numbers, insert strings, convert cases, add auto-numbers, process folders and subfolders etc.

A 64-bit version is available (within the folder).

MuseTips Text Filter is a lightweight text file viewer with easy search and filter tools. Text lines are instantly filtered as you type your search phrase, with all matched terms highlighted in a contrasting color. You can just view lines with results or see highlights across the entire file.

Falkon (formerly "QupZilla") is a modern web browser that implements all standard features, as well as extras like a SSL certificate manager, search engine manager, themes, speed dial, extensions, AdBlock, GreaseMonkey, mouse gestures, access keys navigation, a command-line interface and more.

Cross-platform with clients available for Mac, Linux, the program is WebKit-based, similar to Safari and Chrome. Note that a natively portable version is available, but we are listing the due to issues in testing.

Falkon Portable is a version of the program from PortableApps.com. Windows 7 and 8 users may require an additional (see homepage).

Ahnenblatt is designed to manage your genealogy data and to generate impressive reports and graphical trees. Many import and export features make it easy to share data with others (GEDCOM, HTML and more).

Note that the "Free" version lacks many features of the "Full" shareware version, supporting only basic events and only 1 source and note per person.

Password Generator can create secure and easy to read and remember passwords by using vowels and consonants, as well as separate syllables. The program can quickly generate passwords based on user input or from other specialized password templates, including WEP and WPA2 keys for Wireless LAN. Generates 1,000 passwords at once and save them to a plain text file, and can analyze the relative security of a given password.

Passwords for UNIX, PHP and .HTACCESS (DES, MD5 and SHA1) can be created, including a DES salt.

Password Security Scanner audits security information about stored passwords without displaying the password itself. Includes the total number of characters: numeric, lowercase/uppercase and repeating, as well as a rating of overall password strength. Can help determine whether the passwords used by other users are secured enough, without knowing or watching their actual passwords. Great for administrators concerned about security concerns caused by their users.

ESET SysInspector is an easy-to-use diagnostic tool that allows an in-depth analysis of your operating system, including running processes, registry content, startup items and network connections.

The program includes a privacy option that allows for a system system analysis that excludes all private data.

Note: ESET Helper Driver (esihdrv.sys) writes to the Windows registry. Information on how to delete the LEGACY_ESIHDRV keys from the registry is available.

BlueLife Hosts Editor is a lightweight utility aimed to easily manage your Hosts file, allowing you to add, delete, block and update domain names. The program can also flush the DNS cache, rebuild the default Windows hosts, and backup/restore the Hosts file.

UK's Kalender is a personal calendar that sits in the system tray and reminds you of upcoming events or deadlines. Events can be displayed in weekly, fortnightly, monthly or yearly view. They can also be organized into different categories with their own settings. Documents or programs can be attached to an event so that they are automatically launched when the event fires. The program also allows sharing via network (multi-user).

ISO to USB is a small software that can burn the ISO image file directly to the USB drives, these USB drives include USB flash drives, memory sticks and other USB storage devices, it also supports to create a bootable USB disk with Windows operating systems.

ITN Converter (a.k.a. ITNConv) is both a route converter supporting many formats as well as a simple and efficient route planner.

The converter supports route file formats (roadbook) from many GPS or mapping software such as TomTom, Navigon, Garmin, MapPoint or MapSource. Bible Analyzer is a cross-platform study and analysis program with text comparison, proximity searches, detailed statistics, and more usually not found in other free or commercial software programs.

MyImgur is a tool to quickly upload pictures to Imgur.com, is able to send multiple files in a queue, crop an area of the screen, clipboard, or capture the active window (by default F11). Once uploaded, the program can copy a link to the file directly to your clipboard.

The program can also auto-resize pictures and/or lower quality automatically if file exceeds a given size to speed-up uploads on slow connections. Captures can be stored from cropping or paste and supports multiple monitors in any configurations (spanned horz/vertically etc.).

Functional in Linux via Wine.

TinyTask is a small, simple mouse and keyboard macro recorder. Anything you do with the mouse or type on the keyboard while the program is running can be replayed as many times as you choose. Recordings can even be compiled into an executable file.

Kalkules is an universal scientific calculator that comes with many nontraditional functions and built-in tools designed to make your calculations easier and faster.

Folder Sync is a backup program that can performs comparisons between two directories and then reports new, updated, renamed, moved and deleted files. The program can performs synchronization, as well as full or differential (only items that have changed) from the source to the destination path.

MacMakeup allows you to change the MAC address of any of the network interfaces present on your Windows system. This is sometimes referred as "MAC address spoofing". You can choose a new address of your choice, or get the new one with the help of the tool, which sets the OID part according to your preference.

DOSBox emulates an Intel x86 PC, complete with sound, graphics, mouse, modem etc. that are necessary for running many old DOS programs and games incompatible with any modern OS.

Alternatively, Portable DOSBox is also available.

PhoXo is an easy-to-use, small, and powerful image editing software intended as a mini-PhotoShop. Its features include layers, undo, over 50 special effects, batch processing, and a wide variety of useful and powerful tools for selecting, croping, painting, retouching, measuring and navigation. You can easily add text effects to image, such as shadow text, ripple text, gradient color text etc.

recALL allows you to quickly recover passwords from more than 270+ programs (mail, web browsers, instant messengers, FTP clients, wireless, etc.) and license keys from 2,800+ applications. It can also recover passwords from damaged Windows installations and many applications supporting FTP, POP3 and SMTP protocols, even if the program is not yet supported.

Although the website is in Polish, the program supports 9 languages (including English).

Overlap Wallpaper displays a photo on the desktop wallpaper so that one can have for example the photo of a loved one on different wallpaper image. The overlapped photo can be sized, positioned on desktop as required, and made semi-transparent.

PNG image photos with transparent colors are supported. Photos can be reloaded after a set time, allowing for example the use of another program to overwrite previous image file and auto-display it.

nPOPuk is lightweight yet feature-rich e-mail client. Features include multiple saveboxes, additional mail filtering options, basic viewer for HTML-only messages and option to send them to an external program (web browser), option to quote only portions of a message when replying/forwarding etc.

It's a supposedly improved version based on nPOP's original source code, although the latest nPOP is much newer.

MiTeC Icon Explorer allows to browse, search, extract and manage standalone icons, icon libraries and executable that contains icons as resources. It searches specified path with directory recursion and examines any file if it contains any icon and then extract it. Icons can be saved as icons, icon libraries, individual icon images or bitmaps.

sWeather is a tray-based weather app featuring multiple location support, a 5-day forecast and integrated WOEID (Where on Earth IDentifier) searching. Optional, customizable tray icons are available for conditions and temperature.

Weather data is provided by Yahoo! Weather.

OW Shredder erases files irretrievable by overwriting the affected file data blocks on the disk space, which prevents the reconstruction of the deleted documents. The program can wipe individual files, free disk storage, as well as entire disks or volumes.

The program includes basic disk usage analyzer, file unlocker, autostart manager and more.

Various erasing methods are available, with more iterations (wipes) taking longer to execute and potentially more secure.

sTray is a tiny, tray-based utility with quick access to shutdown, restart, switch user, log off, lock, sleep, hibernate functions etc. This is especially useful for remote desktop users as these commands are missing from Microsoft's Remote Desktop (RDP) tool.

Winyl is a lightweight digital audio player with a minimalist design and skinable interface. The program plays all popular formats and automatically organizes files into categories based on audio tags, making your music easy to find and play. StackNotes is a note-taking application to record notes and todo lists. The first line of each page is used as the Table of Contents entry and pages are automatically saved whenever you browse through your notes. Features drag-and-drop, priorities, TOC search, find and replace, built-in help, desktop locations and taskbar tray.

Each page can contain up to 32K of text (roughly 5,000 words).

Thumbcache Viewer allows you to extract thumbnail images from the thumbcache_*.db and iconcache_*.db database files.

PocketHash is an extremely minimal hash utility with a convenient VirusTotal lookup button.

SmartSniff is a network analysis/diagnostic tool that allows you to capture TCP/IP packets that pass through your network adapter. You can view the captured data as sequence of conversations between clients and servers in ASCII mode (for text-based protocols, like HTTP, SMTP, POP3 and FTP) or as hex dump (for non text-based protocols, like DNS).

On Win2K or above, SmartSniff is able to capture TCP/IP packets using raw sockets. This method has some limitations and problems, but it does not require any additional installation. A better way to capture TCP/IP packets is to install the open-source WinPcap capture driver, functional on Windows 98 and later.

LookDisk is a fast and effective file, text, and duplicate search tool that supports searching with specific parameters. Includes support for searching archive files (e.g. .ZIP files). Displays a disk overview (size and free space).

RegSeeker is a registry tool with search, cleaner, viewer and available optimization tweaks. You can search for any item inside your registry, export/delete the results and open them in the registry. The viewer can look at many aspects of the registry including startup entries, several histories (even index.dat files), installed applications etc.

Includes a tool to search for duplicate files and invalid shortcuts.

Postpone Restart addresses common Windows annoyance: after installing official Microsoft updates, Windows will constantly prompt you to restart. Worse, in Vista and above, the updates are on a timer and, if you happen to be away when the timer runs out, the computer will automatically restart. Postpone Restart will automatically press the "Postpone" button for you, letting you avoid this headache.

To disable the postponing, simply exit the application.

NetCon Manager is a simple network manager to set different network profiles according to location or preference. The program includes IP, Gateway, DNS, gateway, etc.

TimeSync gets the current time from a NIST server and adjusts the PC clock if necessary. It will try alternative servers in case the time cannot be obtained from the first server. You can use the "/auto" parameter to run TimeSync so that it will automatically synchronize the time without user action.

MultiBootUSB can put one or more bootable tools into a single USB drive, including any of a variety of Linux, FreeBSD and other operating systems.

The program uses Syslinux for installing MBR and 7-Zip for extracting ISO images. It also uses a Windows version of CPIO program for installing certain distros. USB/ISO can be tested without reboot via a built-in QEMU program.

WinDataReflector is a lightweight file synchronization and backup tool. It combines rapid file comparison and fast transfer algorithms into a simple and clear interface, offering a visual comparison of files and folders before synchronization / backup. It supports two-way synchronization and customizable rules.

The program can run operations in the background while you configure new ones in a separate tab.

SunsetScreen is an app designed to reduce the amount of blue glow and glare displayed on your monitor to reduce eye fatigue. Specifically, the app allows you to set the colour and brightness levels for day and night, as well as the sunrise time.

RTMPDumpHelper easily downloads video/audio streams used by live streaming websites such as Hulu, justin.tv and others. Open a Web page containing an RTMP-format video stream in your favorite Web browser and, while watching the video, it is saved to your disk automatically as a .FLV or .MP4 file.

Requires proxy server toolkit "RTMPDump toolkit", which must be downloaded separately.

Sylpheed is a fast email and news client, with support for SMTP, POP3, IMAP4 and NNTP. It handles multiple mail accounts, threaded display, junk mail filtering, security (SSL/TLS), search, etc. Automatically displays mail in threaded (organized by subject) format and integrates easily with Gmail.

Alternatively, X-Sylpheed and Sylpheed Portable are also available.

Winamp is an customizable media player considered the grand-daddy of MP3 players. The program plays most common formats, and includes an equalizer, replay gain, and hotkeys. Includes strong support for thousands of different skins and plug-ins.

Longman English Dictionary Browser displays search results from Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English Online for user’s selected keywords with the key combination Ctrl+Shift+D.

Note that while the program will run slow initially, the program gradually builds up a cache of various different parts of speech into one. Once this is finished, the program should have very little delay.

PeaExtractor is a easy, minimalistic tool for unpacking almost any compressed file format. Features a search tool, progress bar and drag-and-drop functionality. The program can unpack over 180 formats including encrypted or multi-volume archives (usually a series like .000, .001 or .r01, .z01...) as well as standard formats like 7z, rar, tar, zip, zipx, bzip2, cab, iso etc.

MyUninstaller is an alternative utility to the standard Add/Remove Software control panel applet. It displays the list of all installed application, and allows you to uninstall an application, delete an uninstall entry, and save the list of all installed applications into a text file or HTML file. It also provides additional information for most installed applications that the standard applet does not display: product name, company, version, uninstall string, installation folder etc.

SigcheckGUI is a system and security analysis tool for understanding files and processes. The program shows a variety of file data including signing source, 32/64-bit status, version, publisher, and more. Security options include VirusTotal analysis and file hashing (MD5, SHA1, and SHA256). The program can even run on all active processes.

The program can export results to spreadsheet (CSV) or copied to the clipboard.

SigcheckGUI is a front-end for Sigcheck from Sysinternals.

HakuNeko is a simple manga downloader for selected online manga reader websites. Works with Mangafox.me and Mangareader.net, then allows filtering based on title.

PassMark DiskCheckup is a disk diagnostic tool that monitors the disk drive for possible long term drive failure indicators via SMART sensors. This includes 'Spin Up Time', number of start/stops, number of hours powered on, and temperature all displayed with the threshold value for that attribute. Users can evaluate drive reliability by observing if the value is close to or below the threshold.

It is recommended that system drives at threshold be replaced or shifted to backup / redundant data storage.

ArtSage is a lightweight image viewer that displays the image files in a folder tree. The program includes a slideshow, layout, collage, favorites, and transitions. It can rotate the view, find file names in a series, rename, and more. Format support includes BMP, EMF, GIF, ICO, JPG, PNG and TIF files.

The program can even create an automated slideshow, where the EXE is placed together with all the images for display from storage media (CD, USB memory stick etc.). Launching the EXE will immediately display the images in slideshow mode.

IP Shifter allows you to switch your IP address parameters (e.g. IP address, Subnet mask, Gateway, DNS, Proxy) if you work dynamically at several locations in the network (due to business), or you need to use your computer in more than one network.

MyEventViewer is intended as an improved alternative to the standard Windows event viewer. The program allows the viewing of multiple event logs combined into one list, as well as the event description and data in the main window.  The program lets you easily select multiple event items and then save them to HTML/Text/XML file, or copy them to the clipboard (Ctrl+C) and paste them into Excel.

Vista+ users are encouraged to use the updated FullEventLogView utility.

Mp3splt-gtk is a utility to split MP3, OGG, and native FLAC files without any change in quality. The program is useful to split albums into tracks, or cut silence or unnecessary audio data, or make audio files easier to transfer.

File Blender is a simple drag-and-drop file media file conversion tool to quickly and simply change basic aspects of files including format, with basic quality and effects that average users will need for daily use. DiskSmartView is a small utility that retrieves useful insights on the health of your drives. The program uses standard diagnostic data from the "S.M.A.R.T," or Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology data drawn from IDE/SATA disks. This includes the model/firmware/serial number, cylinders/heads, power-on hours (POH), internal temperature, disk errors rate, and more.

This data can help you determine if there are any significant problems with your drive and whether it may be nearing end-of-life.

RawReg allows edition of offline registry hives. It can be used (for example) to edit BCD hives, NTUSER, software and many other registry hives found in versions after Windows 2000, including those created by the security tool Sandboxie. Information is provided on the physical offset position of each registry key on the hive file, useful for debugging a registry hive with the aid of an hexadecimal editor.

The program can browse the registry, change value data, edit value titles, and show a map with information on the data in each area.
