sTray is a tiny, tray-based utility with quick access to shutdown, restart, switch user, log off, lock, sleep, hibernate functions etc. This is especially useful for remote desktop users as these commands are missing from Microsoft's Remote Desktop (RDP) tool.

How to extract: Download the ZIP package and extract to a folder of your choice. Launch sTray.exe.
What's new? Added:
  • A printers menu to easily set your default printer.
  • "Start screensaver" option.
  • "Turn monitor off" option.
  • Option to open the menu with a left-click on the tray icon.
  • Ability to configure which items are in the menu and their order.
Fixed:
  • Handled situations where no printers exist or the print spooler service is inactive.

"Yes, you can use the shutdown command via the commandline or you can click the taskbar and press Alt-F4, etc, but not everybody is comfortable using the commandline or remembers that hotkey."

If you only want to shut down a computer via RDP, click on an empty space of the desktop with the left mouse button and then hit [ALT]+[F4]. You will get all available options as you would locally.
