How about making network scanners visible? Lots of AIO network printers around.

@John D

From the help file:

About the limitations:

• The program supports only these image file types: JPG, PNG, BMP, TIFF and GIF.

• No transparency data is preserved even if the image format supports it (PNG).

• Multi page / multi frame formats are not supported (for example some TIFFs generated by fax programs, or animated GIFs).

• The number of images that can be processed is limited by the available memory / addressable space.

multi-redirected download link, does not work here with few blocks in "hosts." file: nothing is "free", but I dislike such "freedom" ... dropped.

@mranonymous

LOL, talk about paranoia.

It only requires session cookies enabled. SESSION cookies.
Not permanent cookies stored on your computer, and only for making sure you are visiting ANY page from the site and avoid deep linking.

About "multi-redirected download link". You are crazy. It's using a PHP script simply to count the downloads and log some stats.

If you dislike this, be my guest.

I get the best pdf scan output using IrfanView: smallest pdf file size and highest font quality (no OCR, obviously).
What is your experience?

Emka on 2011-12-24 21:01

It seems you have to complete a survey or download games before you can download the application...:-(

According to the screenshots, at least v1.5 is out.

Downloaded this to try exporting the pages of a PDF file to image files. It didn't work at all, just returned an unhelpful "failure" message.

RecRedDot on 2012-04-06 15:54

The "About PtoBMP" window says it will extract BMP/JPG from PDF files 'created by BtoPDF' (ONLY!!!); this should be clearly described in Synopsys to avoid frustracting loss of time attempting extraction of JPG from PDF files not created with this utility.

Scan2PDF

Andrew Lee on 12 Feb 2013

Scan2PDF helps you scan paper documents directly into PDF files. It has a non-interactive option so that you can bypass the scanner driver interface during scanning. In addition, you can change the order of scanned images, as well as rotate and delete them.

Note: The latest version writes settings to the user profile folder. If you don't care about portable settings, you can download the latest zipped installer from the website directly and extract using Universal Extractor. Otherwise, click on the "Download" link above to get the older version which doesn't do that.
