System Explorer is a tool for accessing a variety of system internals. It can also be used as a Task Manager replacement with detailed information about processes, startup entries, explorer/IE add-ons, uninstallers, services, drivers, connections, opened files etc. It has a registry/file snapshot feature so that changes to the system can be computed and displayed in tree view or text list format. It also has a processes security tool that checks your processes against an online database.
An earlier, unsupported version (1.4), is available for Windows 2000 users from the download page.

Hi, System Explorer is a highly regarded software. However the questions here are important. If you look at their site you will see they have a graph of anti-virus usage. How did they get that info ? Conjecture: when they call home. Perhaps they market such info ? We should bring this question directly to System Explorer and also to Wilders. I would like to add their two softwares to my layered security mix, but first know more about how and why.

| Stealth: ? | No. The kprocesshacker.sys driver leaves traces in the Registry. To make the program stealth, delete/rename kprocesshacker.sys before launch or start the program with -nokph switch. Note that this will disable some advanced features. Additionally, the update check will leave a trace in Internet Explorer's browser cache. This can be avoided by not checking for updates within the Help menu (there does not appear to be an automatic check). |

Cause it is a delthi and you can't make the process hacker works untill you install it and when go to c:\program files and copy process hacker 2 folder and data from appdata if you can't find or do not know how to find this place so you can download everything program and then you can find it just type in the search box process hacker and that's it :)

Love the "Disk" tab -- frequently when there's a computer slowdown and it's clearly not a processor issue, it's because the hard drive is read/writing some crazy amount of data from antivirus to some background maintenance. Very useful to see what's going on under the hood. |
