I have vs 14.40.0200 free, which I obtained a few months back to try out. While it looks and runs really well, it has a few serious flaws which will keep me from upgrading or using it at all.
First of all I have trouble selecting multiple files for a move or copy when using Shift-LeftMouse, sometime I use continually. Second, I cannot simply drag an image file into a Googgle email. I have to try 3 or 4 times until it finally drags over.
Third, I simply cannot see my Canon camera when it is connected, and I don't think I can see other portable drives either. Perhaps a slightly newer version has fixed that.
These are basic functions of any file explorer but they are not working properly at all, however check it out for yourself. Otherwise, in normal use I have no issues with daily tasks.
Running Win7 64bit 12gb.

@ghiebert - You should probably file bug reports with the developer of XYplorer. But, thanks for letting us know!

Enternal on 2015-01-23 11:02

@ ghielbert
Portable device support is currently still in heavy development for the last few weeks so it's not fully working yet and is only available in the beta versions. As for your other problems, it works perfectly for me so there might be something unique about your installation so go check out the forums and they will try to see what could possibly conflict with it. Although just to note, contrary to what you normally do in Windows Explorer, you want to Shift-Select by clicking on the file names rather than the icons.

Speaking from experience, reconfiguring a router after working on it for a while can be a painful and tedious experience. Although this program will only end up being used by a small number of people on the site, Nirsoft puts out another great tool that will save a lot of headache.

outskirter on 2012-01-11 18:39

Works great here. It only displayed my login password in the table, but switching to ASCII mode revealed my WEP encryption keys, as well as other details.

Nirsoft certainly offers useful apps! I use their Metar Weather every day. Nirsoft's Wireless Network Watcher is quite handy, too, because in addition to my home router, there's a free public one in my vicinity; it's often flakey when under heavy use, but thanks to Nirsoft, I can check on the conditions in advance.

Slight correction:
1) Transparency, Color are user adjustable.
2) Position on screen can be adjusted like thus:
a) Deactivate Click-Through
b) Drag the display window to where you wish to place it
c) Activate Click-Through again
Note: New X and Y co-ordinates are saved on correct exit of program.

I used this program as a diagnostic tool for a keyboard that got some water on it a week ago and was acting funny. I'm pleased to say all the keys worked and it's back in action. :)

Sorry for my typo.
Last version before v40.0.2214.93 was v40.0.2214.91 (and not v40.0.2274.91)!

useless. to most of us, PORTABLE requires us to be able to run as NON-ADMIN. can't use this. can't install it. not truly portable. don't get me wrong, I use it all the time on my cluster at home, just can't use this at work or on common machines at school.

dany on 2011-10-27 15:15

@Cattleya: Make sure you download the zip package, because the installer does the following:
"The kernel mode driver used by CPU-Z is installed on the system, that avoids to install / remove it at every run."
The portable version leaves no driver behind, just tested it.

@kc: I used to do sysadmin for a small non-profit org. 7 pc's and 2 printers, no big deal. I carried all my tools on a pendrive. Off course I had admin-rights, but this is a typical scenario a lot of us are in, so it's not entirely useless, portable is the way to go for sysadmins ;)

kleinkinstein on 2014-03-22 13:09

CPUZ is old, tired and practically useless. It's heyday was about six years ago. Speccy is a must for today.
