Several extra plugins, selections, masks and patterns are available to download from the application website, to extend software features.

CDisplay Ex is an image viewer optimized for displaying comics. Includes a minimalistic interface with a wide variety of view options including rotation, slideshow, resizing, thumbnails, smooth scrolling, and more. TweakPNG is a low-level utility for examining and modifying PNG image files. As it works with detailed file internals, a familiarity with the PNG format is useful.

DiffImg is a simple image comparison tool looking at changes between two images. Uses statistical analysis as well as displaying pixel changes as a color mask. Useful to see how images have been retouched or modified, especially when changes are very subtle or slight.

jpgQ is an image analysis tool that can estimate the quality settings used to save a JPEG image. Since it's difficult to determine the compression level without access to the original, this program can help determine the value (between 1 and 100).

Useful for editors interested in seeing if a JPEG edit will drastically reduce quality, since higher numbers are more likely to survive another instance of lossy compression without serious degradation.

ImgSearch lets you search and delete similar images across multiple folders. The program even allows checking for similarity from previous image analysis. Files are removed to the Recycle Bin and can be restored in case of a mistake.

Because metadata increasingly carries more and more information about the pre-cropped original photo and on where the picture was taken (geo-location), metadata can represent a privacy risk. Deleting metadata usually saves between 1 and 10% of the overall file size.

Locate32 is an indexing search tool that allows you to find files on local and Windows networking-compatible remote shares. After an initial search of shares, it uses database to provide instant for any number of files and folders. Searches can be set on a variety of criterion including date, size, extension, files/folders, etc.

Note that the databases must be updated to give accurate information. You can customize places to search and frequency of each update (e.g. your desktop hourly, your backup drive weekly). Some file types' contents can be searched including most MS Office file formats, but only some PDFs and image metadata.

RecursiView is an image viewer that will allow you to load a folder and all its subfolders at one time. This can be handy when you have your images organized into folders but you don't want to have to click through each folder to view them.

It renders the image using advanced scaling algorithm to fit the resolution of your monitor, supports most common graphics formats, and can open images recursively (e.g. z:\images\01, z:\images\02, etc.).

Simple Duplicate Finder helps track down similar files either to delete extras and save space or to compare versions. While most duplicate-searching programs are looking for exact copies, SDF uses a Percentage Search, allowing you to adjust the percentage difference required for a file to be considered a duplicate. Once scanned, the program will display the number of bytes which differ as well as the specific percentage match between files.

This is useful for example with metadata: when Windows Image Import tool downloads pictures from your digital camera, additional XML data is inserted into the images and video files, including a timestamp of when the image was downloaded to the computer. Although the image is identical in every way to its original, the file will appear as unique. SDF can detect these files and help remove them.

CoView is an image viewer that focuses on viewing comics. It supports special comic archives such as CBR and CBZ, but also standard archives like ZIP or simply saved in folders. SiteShoter is a small utility that allows you to save a screenshot of any Web page into a file. It automatically creates hidden window of Internet Explorer, loads the desired Web page, and than save the entire content of the Web page into an image file (PNG, JPG, TIFF, BMP or GIF). Includes a command-line interface mode.

STP (Scan to PDF) lets you convert paper documents into PDF files. Functions include creating JPEG files from scanned images, PDF creation from separate JPEG files, preview with basic image editing functions (rotate, crop), external preview and editing, variable compression/quality of PDF pages, etc.

Index Your Files allows you to search through all your files or folders on local or networked drives. Searching can be done by name, date, size, location etc., and boolean operators are available to to perform multiple keyword searches. You can invoke Windows Explorer context menus on found files to perform operations such as drag/drop, copy, rename, delete etc. It also includes internal viewers for text, HTML and image files.

As the name implies, the program must index the area before searching, but afterward searches almost instantly.

Note: v5.0.2.6 is effectively the last freeware version of IYF. The current version is named "IYF Pro", and is an extreme nagware (as described by webfork here) that is effectively just a commercial demo, so we have decided not to update this entry, but link to the Internet Archive for download of the last freeware version.

Jpg+FileBinder is able to hide files in a picture file by merging one of three compressed file types (.zip, .rar, .7z) with an ordinary JPEG image file. This basic steganography makes the compressed file look like any other JPEG image file to the operating system and any image viewer. Meanwhile, if users try to open the file using WinRAR or 7-Zip, the compressed files will appear.

This may be used as a camouflage for information or to help transfer non-image format files through image hosting-only services. 7capture is a fast and easy high-quality screen capture software that allows the capture of windows' rounded corners and transparent backgrounds that have increased in popularity since Windows XP. It also enables export to semi-transparent PNG, JPEG, GIF or BMP image.

Manga Meeya is an image viewer with an emphasis on comic/manga reading. It supports very fast viewing, reading the internals of numerous archive formats (RAR, ZIP, CBZ, CBR) and recursive archive traversal (ZIP within ZIP, RAR with ZIP etc).
