LibreOffice Portable v5.3.2 Updated

LibreOffice is a complete productivity suite including word processor, spreadsheet, presentations, database, drawing tool, and more. Includes strong compatibility for 100s of file formats including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc). The program is similar to OpenOffice, a program that it was derived from, but has added many new features and improvements.

A "Still" version that's more tested and stable but with fewer features/capabilities is available via the website link. On systems without Java installed, some functions such as document creation wizards and the Base database application, etc. can be enabled by adding jPortable, though this is optional and can be skipped if those functions are not needed. Alternatively, X-LibreOffice is also available.

Cross platform with versions available for Mac, Linux/BSD (comes default with most distros), and supports a variety of extensions. A more stable "Still" version is available from the website link.

CornHolio the Gringo on 2015-06-20 17:14

As many knows, LibreOffice Portable from PortableApps.com takes a long time to startup. On my system it takes 13 seconds from a fresh boot.
X-LibreOffice takes 4 seconds, from a fresh boot, so to all of You who
wants the portable version to start faster, use X-LibreOffice from WinPenPack.com.
Calc, Writer and the other stuff also loads faster with X-LibreOffice.

JohnTHaller on 2015-06-20 23:36

LibreOffice Portable is compressed using UPX to make it a lot smaller (268MB vs X-LO's 523MB for an English install) which also speeds up startup times from the vast majority of external drives. The tradeoff is that it will take a few extra seconds to start off an internal drive vs an uncompressed copy... 3 vs 5 seconds for a cold start on my machine.

Solved: the download on the portable freeware site does not include a file "todolist.exe.manifest" that is required to run on XP. If you have an existing earlier version of todolist, it will have a file "todolist.exe.xp.manifest". Dan the developer advises to rename that to "todolist.exe.manifest". Seems to work.

No I hadn't; thank Midas. Tried it out and while it has lots of options, I still prefer Snap2HTML because of the nesting in the tree view, better visual clarity and speed of viewing. We're talking about 400k files/folders that are displayed in a single HTML, which Snap creates and displays quickly. The .htmls that DirHTML creates for much smaller directories are far larger than that of Snap's for my entire external drive.

For comparison, I created a test snapshot of my \Portable directory, where all my portable apps live, and DirHTML's output was 47Mb, nearly crashing Firefox and completely unviewable, whereas Snap's output for my entire external is around 32Mb, opens in seconds and easily navigated as if in a normal Explorer window.

I'll definitely be keeping your suggestion though, because it's useful for other types of directory snapshotting :)

Excellent program. A nice interface, an easy to navigate format, and a search program all inside a single HTML. Nice.

Who are you? Like if gho the main guy behind DxWnd move over to Github, only then I would consider it an "official" repo, but other wise it seems pretty unofficial to me when a random person sets one up.

What are some of your contributions to DxWnd? Why didn't gho set it up instead?

@Special, I'm just helping gho with the "mechanics" of the mirror. He owns and approves the mirror.

Is that a legitimate download site :
I get the following warning msg in Crome:
"The site ahead contains harmful programs

Attackers on www.mitec.cz might attempt to trick you into installing programs that harm your browsing experience (for example, by changing your homepage or showing extra ads on sites you visit)."

Guido76 on 2016-12-28 08:55

Same problem with Firefox : the site is blocked and it was impossible to directly download this software that i use for a while.
But you could download it, going on the web site at this link http://www.mitec.cz/tmx.html, and by clicking on button up and right on this page.

Sorry, but I forgot to precise you have to use Internet Explorer to download this software on the site Mitec, and not an another browser.

YUMI v2.0.4.7 Updated

billon on 21 Apr 2017
  • 2MB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 20 Apr 2017
  • Suggested by webfork

YUMI (Your Universal Multiboot Installer) can be used to create a multi-boot USB flash drive containing multiple operating systems, antivirus utilities, disc cloning, diagnostic tools, and more. Aside from a few distributions, all files are stored within the Multiboot folder, making for a nicely organized Multiboot Drive that can still be used for other storage purposes. YUMI uses syslinux to boot extracted distributions stored on the USB device, and reverts to using grub to Boot Multiple ISO files from USB, if necessary.

YUMI works much like Universal USB Installer, except it can be used to install more than one distribution to run from your USB. Distributions can also be uninstalled.

Note: YUMI v2.x can't remove distributions previously installed with Legacy YUMI! Although no longer supported, you can still Download Legacy YUMI.
