CPUZ is old, tired and practically useless. It's heyday was about six years ago. Speccy is a must for today.

In spite of the adware issues, I think this is the easiest-to-use and to setup CPU temperature application. It's on all my PCs and I've never had a problem with it. Just set it and forget it. The digital temperature display in the system tray is very visible and useful when resource-heavy apps are running. I'm surprised this isn't rated higher. |

IntelBurnTest allows CPU benchmarking and stability tests under a heavy load. The program is commonly used by the overclocking community to measure CPU temperature when used in conjunction with a separate temperature monitoring program.
NOTE: The program will stress the CPU, memory, and north bridge, meaning the machine will run unusually hot. Make sure your PC is properly cooled and ventilated before use. Additionally, setting the "times to run" past 20 doesn't provide better results.
The program is a front-end for the CPU stress testing utility Intel Linpack.

Real Temp is a monitoring program designed to see the temperature of all Intel "Core" processors including Core 1, 2, i3, i5, and i7 processors. Each core has a digital thermal sensor (DTS) that reports data relative to the safe maximum operating temperature, known as "TjMax". As your CPU heats up, your "Distance to TjMax" will decrease.
As these processors will start to throttle or slow down as they approach their maximum temperature, it's possible to have a computer that slows down dramatically. To increase speed and reliability, a good TjMax distance is ideal.
The program also supports full logging, temperature alarms and shutdown, and the ability to calibrate for each core of your CPU.
