Calcute is an unobstrusive scientific tape calculator. Calcute lets you enter complete expressions as if you were using a regular text editor. MDB Viewer Plus is a tabbed viewer/editor for Microsoft Access MDB and ACCDB database files. PhotoDemon is a fast, feature-rich photo editor with rotate, resize, crop, etc. and a variety of color, contrast, filters and other graphics tools. The program also allows adding text, a metadata viewer/editor, on-canvas paint tool, layers, screenshot too, and works with common graphics formats including BMP, GIF, JPG, PNG, TIFF, PSD, JP2, JXR, PPM, TGA and WEBP.

The program also supports macro edition and batch processing.

Sigil is a tabbed editor for the EPUB format commonly used in eBooks. The program includes basic formatting, customizable fonts and styles, hotkeys and spellcheck. You can generate a table of contents, embed files (audio, video, or other), edit/add metadata, rearrange or split pages, add vector (SVG) images and available "clips" for frequently entered text.

As the format is based on simple HTML, the program includes a WYSIWYG-style book vs. code view, the ability to modify cascading style sheets and additional functionality via plugins. The program can even shrink some eBooks by discarding unused media elements.

Cross-platform with clients for Linux, Mac and supports many languages. Sigil Portable is a wrapper version of the program and an outdated X-Sigil is also available.

WaveShop is a fast and lightweight audio editor, which despite its name supports lots of different audio file formats, including MP3, FLAC, OGG/Vorbis, and AAC/MP4. The program is bit-perfect, meaning uncompressed audio samples aren't altered unless they need to be; editing a portion of an audio file only affects that portion and the rest of the file remains untouched. Cut and pasted audio blocks won't modify their contents. This is especially useful for patching a finished master without corrupting its dither. Other features include unlimited undo, peak and RMS analysis, normalizing, fading, audio generation, and more.

Note that the author recommends running the 64-bit version (if you have 64-bit Windows) as it can load bigger files without running out of memory.

Alternatively, WaveShop Portable automatically switches between 32 & 64-bit and portablizes paths. X-WaveShop is also available.

PDF-XChange Viewer is a feature-rich program that displays multiple PDF documents within a tabbed interface. Edit features include the ability to rotate documents, add comments/annotations to any PDF file, apply custom stamps from any image/PDF file/Windows clipboard, mark-up pages with text and objects, and type directly on any PDF page in "Typewriter" mode.

The program supports exporting to BMP/JPEG/TIFF/PNG etc., or extracting text from a PDF page/file. Additional features include capturing the document with the snapshot tool (copies an area to clipboard), measuring tools for distance, area and perimeter, and more. A recommended picture-to-text OCR plugin is available (thanks Bruce) as is a PDF help file.

Reported as functional on Mac/Linux under WINE. Alternatively, PDF-XChange Viewer Portable adjusts paths, with an OCR plugin and help file available from the website as separate downloads.

RisohEditor is a resource editor for Win32 development. It supports adding, editing, extracting, cloning and removing resource data in EXE/DLL/RC/RES files. This includes resources such as dialogs, menus, icons, cursors, string tables, message tables etc.

Trimto is an image editor to crop, resize, and save in one operation. The program focuses on standard-sizing and a set aspect ratio. Optionally, "Sharpen Edge" and "Auto Correction" can be processed simultaneously. Useful for quickly reducing the size of photos with unnecessary borders or lots of activity on the periphery (e.g. distractions like flags, crowds, power-lines, etc.).

Includes sizing presets and output size details to file name. Input and output formats include PNG, JPG, TIFF, GIF, and BMP.

Photoscape is an all-in-one photo software that lets you fix, arrange, and enhance your photos. It includes a wide range of tools, including a viewer/editor, batch renamer, RAW format converter, animated GIF maker, collage generator, paper print, splitter, contact sheet, and more. Includes a meta-data viewer for camera model, software version, DPI, etc. and file renamer that lets you for example change file names to the date the camera gave them. A "Paper Print" feature even lets you print out customizable lined, graph, or various different calendar/planning documents.

Note:

• v3.4 is the last portable version. Later versions are adware and write settings to the AppData folder, but a method is available to make it portable.
• The program has an update check nag screen. If you know how to disable this, please post in forums.

Textadept is a minimalist programmer’s text editor featuring split views, themes, auto-complete. Also features syntax highlighting, advanced search, and bookmarks.

RawReg allows edition of offline registry hives. It can be used (for example) to edit BCD hives, NTUSER, software and many other registry hives found in versions after Windows 2000, including those created by the security tool Sandboxie. Information is provided on the physical offset position of each registry key on the hive file, useful for debugging a registry hive with the aid of an hexadecimal editor.

The program can browse the registry, change value data, edit value titles, and show a map with information on the data in each area.

TED Notepad is a small and fast text editor intended as a replacement for Windows notepad. The program offers a variety of interface tools including hotkeys for almost every function, ability to minimize to system tray, favorite files menu, and many more. Tiny Hexer Small Edition is a minimal hex editor for binary files with an intuitive interface. The program features multiple file edition, the ability to edit sectors of the disk or other media including flash memory on drivers drive or digital camera. The program can change the virtual memory of other processes and open files up to 2 GB.

The "Small Edition" was originally developed for BartPE as a version that requires fewer system libraries and can operate on minimal dependencies.

TagScanner is a multifunction program for organizing and managing your music collection. Wavosaur is a fast and easy multi-audiowave file editor created for editing audio clips, sound design, mastering, managing and recording. PngOptimizer is an easy-to-use program to compress common graphics formats to PNG format with no quality difference. Files can be added one at a time or in batch to the program icon or window. Images can also come from the clipboard by pressing CTRL+V while the application is in focus.

Cross-platform with clients available for Linux. A CLI version is available.

Graphics formats supported include BMP, GIF, TGA, as well as further compressesing PNG files. Animated GIF and PNG files (APNG) are also supported. Size decrease for PNG files varies widely on the original editor, but GIF and BMP conversions can be as much as 40% and 95% respectively.

Alternatively, PngOptimizer Portable automatically switches between 32-bit and 64-bit and adjusts the screenshots path.

RegCool is an advanced registry editor. It provides the complete functionality of Windows' own Regedit and has many powerful features that allow you to work faster and more efficiently with registry related tasks: multiple undo and redo; search and replace; compare registries; cut, copy and paste; drag and drop; easy and flexible Favorites management; editing '.REG' and '.HIVE-Files' in offline mode; registry snapshot; backup and restore; defragment, etc.

SynWrite is a powerful tabbed source code and web development editor. This feature-rich program includes syntax highlighting for many languages, code folding, tree structure, project management, FTP/SFTP client, keyboard macros, spell checking, customizable hotkeys etc.

iPhotoDraw is a image editor and screencapture program. The program enables image filters, transformations, addendums, layers and arrangement. Photo filters include brightness/contrast, hues/saturation, inversion, sepia and grascale. Addendums include description text, call-out boxes (ballons), dimensions, stamps (1, 2, 3 ...) and more.

The program also includes image slicer, watermarks, a color picker, stamps and batch operations. Images can be sent to Microsoft Office, FTP, or other external programs.

Gwennel is a lightweight word processor that takes an innovative approach to formatting options by separating them into a tree-like structure. This is useful for handling long documents with clear, organized formatting tools or for users who wish to focus on the text first and formatting second. Any style changes (such as headings, lists, or colors) are propagated throughout the entire document and, although only able to open and save OpenDocument (.odt) files, this makes the program a capable WYSIWYG editor. Additionally, users can open existing files and make rapid changes to the entire document.

AutoIt is a BASIC-like scripting language designed for automating the Windows GUI and general scripting. It uses a combination of simulated keystrokes, mouse movement and window/control manipulation in order to automate tasks or perform user interface testing.

WikidPad is a notebook for storing your thoughts, ideas, todo lists, contacts etc. It allows you to easily cross-link the information entered by using "WikiWords" or mixed-case word typed into the editor (e.g. TodoList or JohnDoe).

Hex-Ed is a quite small and efficient Hex Editor for programmers.

Textreme is a tool for "text remodelling", allowing you to change text and modify its appearance by delete blanks or moving/insert words. Great for updating text files with lots of minor changes that would be manually tedious, the program offers a variety of string-based functions (deleting sections, inserting into a specific place, switching bits around, etc.) for text files.

There are currently nine different actions that can be performed in various ways, and actions can be cascaded in so that many changes can be made in a single pass.

Tip: Use "TextEditor="dummy\..\..\PathToYourEditor.exe" to specify an editor with relative path in Textreme.ini.

JSONedit is a simple editor for the JavaScript Object Notation format "a text-based open standard designed for human-readable data interchange" (source) with available text and tree views.

Includes array generator using embedded Lua interpreter and Scintilla for text edition.

RJ TextEd is a full featured text, source code and web development editor. The program includes spell checking, auto completion, HTML validation, templates, as well as a dual pane file commander with (S)FTP client. Includes support for regular expressions, PHP, ASP, JavaScript and CSS/HTML editing with integrated preview.

A earlier version (14.81) is also available for WinXP, Vista, and Wine users.

Eclipse quickly encrypts/decrypt text, useful for adding security to instant messaging and email conversations. A customizable hotkey system (by default Ctrl+Shift+E) works on highlighted text to copy encrypted text to the clipboard after prompting for a password. Secure text can then be pasted into any editor or application and then decrypted via the same method.

The program is an interface for a command-line utility called MySecret, which uses the Blowfish encryption algorithm. Eclipse is written in AutoHotkey.

ScreenToGif is a feature-rich recording program for screen, webcam and whiteboard. The program is customizable, includes hotkeys and recordings can be edited and saved to animated GIF, APNG or video formats. You can control frame-rate, snap the recorder to a window, add text/objects, and denote mouse-clicks and key-presses.
