TagScanner is a multifunction program for organizing and managing your music collection. It can edit tags of most audio formats, rename files based on the tag information, generate tag information from filenames and perform any transformations of the text from tags and filenames. Album info available via online databases like gnudb, Discogs or MusicBrainz and includes a built-in audio player.
Supports ID3v1, ID3v2, Vorbis comments, APEv2, WindowsMedia and MP4 (iTunes) tags. Includes powerful TAG editor with batch functions and special features and a playlist maker with ability to export playlists to HTML, Excel or any user-defined format.

I just tried this on Win 8 and it works great! I only did a few minor edits just to check it out, but so far it's a keeper.

This looks like great software - I'd love to use it.
Trouble is t hat version 597 comes up with an "Invalid Code Page" error message immediately on loading and has to be closed.
Running under XP SP3. Tried 2 downloads to check for corruption with same result.

Note: starting with actual version 6.18 TagScanner requires the VC-/Universal Runtimes. I stumbled upon because this runtimes cannot be installed on my system. Version 6.17 however works fine.
For systems without this runtimes the workaround could be to copy the runtimes from LibreOffice or Firefox and place them in the root folder of TagScanner (x86 or x64 accordingly).
