Like it very much!
Since screamer radio stopped I found this package a good choice.
Any possibility of more options like setting buffer-size, record only 1 (current) song and then stop recording.
Also sometimes a blockage (configurable option!) of starting more then 1 instance of the player is preferable ?

Very nice program. Just started using it. Simple and cool. Thanks to this site and to the dev.

Arno 2009-10-08 14:47

I installed it a few days ago. I couldn't stand my setup with audacity... I LOVE IT!!

Transcontinental 2009-10-10 05:53

There is a version 2.0.886 BETA available on the developer's download page which in my opinion runs even better.

James21 2009-10-20 17:32

This is great! I tried Screamer for awhile. Most of the stations didn't work. This is working amazing. Love it. Great job and Thanks!

Webfork 2009-11-11 15:49

Simple, clean, and easy. Has up to date and working radio stations listed with all the information you need to choose the best locations for music.

So far the best portable radio software on the site.

i love thtis too, i like how you can add channels and record :D and it is portable path too

but anyone know if it looks for and updates channels each startup or do we have to go download it somewhere?

HrWasp 2010-03-28 09:06

I have used this little jem for a short time, the latest beta is great. Thank you.

Tom 2010-03-28 15:09

Note: the latest version has portable paths by default. No need to change it by hand.

ikke 2010-03-30 15:46

Sorry, just like screamer this is useless.
About half of the stations in the database are outdated or just don't work.
Try some dutch stations. Almost none of them are working. The database needs a big overhaul.

webfork 2010-03-31 19:12
Faust 2010-04-14 06:57

ikke, the DB is in text format. You can overhaul it yourself.

Yep 2010-04-20 19:46

Yes, the DB that comes with the exe is a bit old, but the database is constantly being updated via crowdsourcing. Try here to download the latest db:

And make sure you sign up and help correct any errors you find.

noticed the new version cant minimize to icon tray on Winxp... but old version still works well :D

Midas 2010-06-21 11:02

As a former Screamer Radio user, I've switched over to this since v1.8x -- it couldn't yet buffer songs then (for recording from the beginning) but it can now, but the overall user experience was much smoother, if only at the cost of a somewhat more encumbering interface.

@Webfork: great review, but in need of updating (RS does currrently support pls, for example)

@ikke: as Yep mentioned, the station guide is crowd sourced at the URL he posted. If the Dutch info is outdated, you could update it online, it would then get automagically updated in the program. Plus, it has a local favorites file ('mystations.rsd' is a plain text tab separated file that resides in the program folder)...

Nani 2010-06-21 17:34

About minimize to icon tray, I change the skin e now it´s working, but in the default skin still don´t work.

Versions after v.951 don't work at all with WinXP SP1 or SP2. Error reports as...

"The procedure entry point DecodePointer could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll."

jaden 2010-06-24 00:29

2.1.969 wouldn't run on Win7 x64. The previous version works great.

Sasan 2010-06-24 00:57

WOW, ONE Word "Excellent", this is brilliant.

yepp 2010-06-24 01:28

"Versions after v.951 don't work at all with WinXP SP1 or SP2."

So upgrade to SP3 already.

TT 2010-06-24 17:20

New versions of Visual Studio and C++ seem to be 'breaking' Win2000, XPsp1, and XPsp2, perhaps to force people to upgrade. Unfortunately, not everyone is willing or able to 'upgrade' their OS just because a lone app won't run. Rev. 2.1.951 still works okay.

Farauanu Emanuel 2010-07-12 21:41

This app is really usefull. Some stations don't work, but that isn't the app's fault. There are some really beautiful stations there.

Emka 2010-10-06 13:54

At present, the automatic stations database update is carried out only every five days due to heavy server load. At least that's what I found on their forums.
I wonder can the list of last stations somehow be deleted (just like the list of last searches) without fumbling around in xml files?

Emka 2011-01-13 05:28

V2.2 is out and it has gone payware (though it's affordable). A free version is still available but it lacks some features of the full one.
In addition, it's no longer stealth as it leaves some registry keys.
A pity.
I'll switch over to Screamer Radio, although it's not as functional and I really loved RadioSure...

zorro 2011-01-26 09:28

The download-link (Softpedia) on this page doesn't point to the last uncrippeled version 2.1.969, but to the actual "free" version. Instead, you can find the mentioned version here:
...and here:

SBT 2011-02-02 06:25

Hi. How to configure Network settings (proxy)? It is not active...unable to type

Duck 2011-03-06 18:07

Hi Can someone please clarify: Forum thread implied that it went pay/crippled-ware at 2.2 as noted in the Synopsis-Note above.
So how come another new version 2.2.1004 ?

ChemZ 2011-03-06 18:17

Was wondering that myself! Seems this lastest version is crippled (v2.2.1004).

Shouldn't we be sticking to v2.1.969?

Karol 2011-03-06 19:11

Proxy can be used just with a paid version of this software. And that's why I use another software for listening and recording radio stations...

Checker 2011-03-06 20:17

My "mistake".
I changed the db entry because website and download link are pointing to version 2.2.1004.
I (or you) can change it back to version 2.1.969, but I need a good download link, too.

Onesimus Prime 2011-03-06 21:19

As of Mar. 5th, 2011, zorro's second link above worked for the 2.1.969 version:
His first link, however, now points to the newest 2.2 version.

Perhaps Andrew or someone "official" could snag the 2.1.969 installer for potential local hosting when necessary?

Checker 2011-03-07 11:37

I changed it back to the old version 2.1.969 and added zorro's download link.

Lupo73 2011-03-07 15:42

If you want, last free portable version can be download from my website:

Ruby 2011-03-07 16:46

I think this is one of those times where a Version dependent link is preferred.
I've updated to the 'Official' download link:

Checker 2011-03-07 19:06

Thanks !

Magibon 2011-03-10 04:26

i like this :)

i used to use MAGIX Webradio Recorder, but it's so bloated, not portable, and of course, payware. i really liked it when i first discovered it years ago.

this is exactly what i was looking for: small, light, record, listen to radio stations. i wish you could tune into a specific station vs. selecting from a list.

Great App., def. recommened!

Magibon 2011-03-20 20:19

im such an idiot, you can add your own station :)

just right-click the list.

Great app., have been using this furiously.

If anyone is having troubles with their stations and need to find the direct URL for RadioSure:

FREMONZ 2011-04-14 05:35

i'm using "Mask Surf everything"
so is there any radio toolbar applet that can record like radiosure & play hit stations(Eg. KIIS 102.7 fm)?

mrpink 2012-04-11 09:45

What's the point of hosting an outdated version? The latest free version is still stealth and with no serious limitations

Erkhyan 2012-04-11 12:50

mrpink> The point is probably that this outdated version has more features than the current free version.

smallhagrid 2013-12-08 03:20

(I am posting this as a comment because what I wish to ask was mentioned as a comment previously.)
Query=> Radiosure's database is in text format and I tried editing it to shrink it to a more reasonable size - but editing it breaks it and the program says 'cannot connect'.

Can anyone recommend how to do this so it is alot smaller and still works ??
(There's thousands of stations in it I would never use.)

smallhagrid 2013-12-08 14:59

I found an app that does it - Pspad=>

Just removed 100 stations and it opened/worked fine.

As one who speaks/reads only english, there is no use in my having thousands of non-english radio stations; I will never use them.

I suggested to them to offer DBs of stations by language for single-language folks but they didn't answer yet.

fullbug 2014-05-08 16:55

Works pretty well, thanx!
