Picture Resizer is a single-EXE, high speed batch JPG resizer. The tool sits on the Windows desktop and resizes JPG images sent to it via drag-and-drop. The resized image files are saved in the same folder as the original files. Names of the new pictures will be based on the original names, with a suffix indicating their size. For example, the resized version of MyPhoto.jpg will be called MyPhoto-400.jpg, where the number 400 indicates the size of the picture.
What is unique about this program is that there are no settings to speak of. The desired final size is set by renaming the EXE. For example, PhotoResize800.exe means maximum width/height of 800 pixels, PhotoResizeP50.exe means 50% of original size and so on. There are too many variations to fully list here.
For further customization, you can also add command line arguments to the executable shortcut. They allow you to change the output folder, specify the JPEG quality factor etc.

looking forward not to hear excuses about some tags related to Exif.Photo.MakerNote, Exif.Image.Make and their dependencies that can't be removed which represent roughly 40 KB of file size

error. I meant undo feature of Rename Master, not Advanced Renamer, although Advanced Renamer also has an undo feature, but in GUI only.

Slimjet is not portable to any useful degree. Don't even try it. I lost all of my extensions and (all?) settings, browsing session. (Bookmarks, history remained...)

The problem avada describes still persists in version 26. I used Slimjet portable on my Windows 7 PC with no problems. In February I moved to a new PC with Windows 10, copied Slimjet from the old PC on a USB stick, and from there to the new PC , started it and all extensions and settings were gone. Only the profiles and bookmarks were kept. |
Pixia is a powerful raster graphics editor with a unique user interface. It includes various photo filters, brushes, layers, text and broad file format support. Note that the program has a fairly unique interface so, when learning Pixia, it's easier to discard everything you know about other editors like Photoshop or Paintshop and start from scratch with the tutorials and help files.

Checker: a portable version of Paint.net is available, but untested and not something I would use: http://www.portablefreeware.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=61988#p61988

Webfork is correct, there is a portable version. Worked fine for me on XP. I also like the knockoff of it called Pinta available for Linux. It's not full-featured yet, but it certainly works.

Download link still pointing to Pixia 6.00G rather than to 6.00H and gets a "not found" error. |
