CleanAfterMe allows you to easily clean files and registry entries automatically created by Windows during regular computer activity. You can clean the cookies/history/cache/passwords of Internet Explorer, the 'Recent' folder, the last opened files, temporary Windows folders, the event logs, the Recycle Bin etc.

I ran 3 other major cleaner programs here on the site (Bleechbit, CCleaner, and PureRA) and this program still found more to delete. If you're using an public computer, this seems to be THE program to run before you leave. |

Pixie is a utility made especially for webmasters and designers with the ability to simply point to a color and get the color's values in HEX, RGB, HTML, CMYK and HSV. Does anyone know an alternative to Pixie that works well on HiDPI monitors? Pixie doesn't correctly detect the current mouse's pixel on high monitor resolutions well.

@Mixture - Thanks! I decided to go with the original inspiration for Power Toys's Color Picker - https://github.com/martinchrzan/ColorPicker. It's not portable, but it is simple like Pixie. Colora was also a consideration, but it was a bit less easy to use, so I decided not to go with it. ColorGrab is a no-go because it uses Electron which is too heavy for a simple color picker utility. |
Universal Extractor allows you to extract files from a wide variety of archive files, including ZIP, ARJ, LZH, as well as MSI and EXE files created using various installer packages (such as Nullsoft, Wise, Inno Setup, etc). Useful for testing apps for portability because you can extract files directly from installer packages without having to go through the installation process. Note that the original developer no longer updates the program so some manual updates may be required.
Alternatively, an unofficial version with the latest-and-greatest internals is available (on Lupo's PenSuite site).
Commercial use note: license restrictions are present on included files UHARC02.EXE and UHARC04.EXE, but can be deleted without dramatic impact on the software. See website for more information.

Taskix lets you reorder buttons on the taskbar using drag-and-drop. Note that if "Group similar taskbar buttons" is set, you will be able to move a button inside the group or move the group as a whole, but not to move a button out of its group. If you open many windows so buttons end up stacked up on a single taskbar button, Taskix will also work inside the stacked button list.

Taskix seems to occasionally get windows confused for me. I've had a few windows which simply won't come to the top when I click on them - they stay behind the others. It's not necessarily taskix at fault (I have VirtuaWin running as well), but switching it off fixed the problem.

WinSnap is a small utility for taking and editing screenshots. It can easily capture screenshots of non-rectangular windows with the background of your choice, automatically perform simple canvas transformations and coloring effects, add professional Photoshop-style shadows etc. Note that if you are running this on versions of Windows before XP, you will need to place GDIPLUS.DLL in the application folder.
Note: Starting from V2.x, WinSnap is no longer free for personal use. We are linking to the last freeware version available on an alternative site. If you have a more recent freeware version, please post in forums.

Uninstall Tool is a small and fast utility that performs software uninstallation like the slow and bloated "Add and Remove Programs" applet. It includes a number of nifty features missing from the standard applet, such as display hidden installed programs, calculate how much disk space a program occupies, search by typing known letters of the program's name, deletion of entry if uninstaller is unavailable or fails to run etc.
Note: Starting from V2.x, Uninstall Tool has gone payware. As such, I have included a direct download link for the last freeware version that I have.

"Mike Lin took down it's former website" ... That's a real bummer. Mike's programs helped out a bunch of people that I introduced to this. I definitely owe him. Great software and a huge help supporting XP and dealing with insistant autostart programs and junkware. |
