[Anonymous] adamhanyone know what's been changed in this release?

In a way, I sorta miss the old TorPark...these new versions just look too "commercial"...I know they gotta pay the bills and all, but selling laptops, etc; and an up and coming "anonymity service" that will supposidely have higher speeds and anonymity...hehe.

[Anonymous] Simon.TThis is exactly what I feel (...these new versions just look too "commercial"...) and it is pretty sucks but, of course you got the "Source Code" available http://update.torrify.com/distro/torpark/Torpark_latest.zip
and you got the "Torrify User Forum" http://support.torrify.com/forum/ take a look and i bet that you'll feel much better :)

you can also check the Announcement about "Torpark for POSIX (Linux / BSD / Unix etc)" http://support.torrify.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=233

and about the selling thing... laptops, i'm not so sure about that, it is just a laptop... gee...

but about the "anonymity service", I think that this is a fair thing to do (you've got to live from something!) if it is real and not like some kinda Chinese government (or other) conspiracy, if you know what I mean. so I think that this is a fair cost for those kind of services, but its pretty EXPENSIVE thought!

[Anonymous] DeepAngerA (probably) better alternative is OperaTor

[Anonymous] Simon.TA better alternative, I guess, is PortableTor + Firefox

[Anonymous] appwinxA better Tor solution is Vidalia
http://vidalia-project.net/

Basically, it bundles Tor, Privoxy and Vidalia, a GUI for Tor. All you need to do is to install it and set your browser to use Tor via Privoxy.

[Anonymous] safafomfg Its freakin slow, it takes a minute or 2 to open a page + you need to install this. [2008-07-30 11:49]

[Anonymous] userleftThis is absolutely a HORRIBLE app and a complete waste of time and bandwidth. It seems Mozilla would have something to say about it. This browser would not even load some of the most common pages on the net, even after I changed all security settings to allow and accept everything. It's horrible, just horrible! [2009-08-30 16:06]

[Anonymous] bob2345OK I might be wrong but downloaded this and ran the self-extractor exe which actually installs it on your system as its visible from the start menu, which to me isn't portable. Not only that but if you dont want to pay its defaults to version 2. Rubbish! [2010-02-24 11:51]

For more general topics (eg. whether apps that write to the registry, leave traces on the host machine, rely on certain versions of IE etc. can be considered portable), please post to the Portable Freeware Discussion forum. If your virus scanner has detected a virus in the application, please email the author directly or post to the forum. Note that false positives (i.e. flagging a virus when there is actually none) are extremely common for virus scanners. When in doubt, try an online scanner like Online Malware Scanner or VirusTotal, which scans files using multiple anti-virus engines. It is very likely to be a false positive if only a few engines raise the red flag.
