Excellent text editor. Loads fast like NPP and has many enhancements not found in NPP. Doesn`t seem quite as feature packed as RJTextEd, which is possibly in the top 5 free editors.

Wish this would store any changes you make to it's highlighting in a separate file so it doesn't get overwritten when you update :|

After playing with SynWrite a bit more, I've found it bogs down when navigating a large (86MB) file, and occasionally hogs the computer. This is on a 2GHz CPU with 1.5 Gig ram, but competitors like PSPad and EditPadLite don't have similar problems. |

Attention! When this program is checked "As Default Browser for all" interfere with windows such as: SaveAs ..., Open ..., Export ... usually using resources Explorer! Too bad, it's useful to display the colors of file types.

I have been very fortunate to have access to xyplorer for some time which is not freeware, but fabulous. QDIR is IMHO the next best file manager, and I use it alongside xyplorer because I often have need for 3 panes. Should the developer ever include a simple audio player for mp3 then i would happily make QDIR my one and only file manager. This software is what windows should have had standard. Great stuff

I really like this simple program. I used it first to hide/disable a corrupted Magic ISO contextual menu in mere seconds. Then later on I learned about some features of Explorer that could be turned off using this program, so I did that. It worked both times without any problems. I like that you can undo the changes too if you like. Good program. Thanks for updating this.

Love this program, recently had the dreaded explorer crash and this program allowed me to easily identify the culprit, and a uninstall/reinstall of the offending (acronis) software fixed my issue. Would have spent an eternity without this software. Should be part of Windoze. |
