Windows System Control Center v3.3.0.0 Updated

billon on 17 Oct 2017
  • 5MB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 16 Oct 2017
  • Suggested by joby_toss

Windows System Control Center (WSCC) allows you to install, update, execute and organize the utilities from various system utility suites. The program either works as an interface or as downloader. The program can work with both utilities suites downloaded or can dynamically grab and run the programs via a web connection. The included Update Manager can check for newer versions of the utilities already installed and can download and install the missing items.

Works with Windows Sysinternals and NirSoft Utilities suites, but also highlights Windows' own utilities.

Note: The setup packages are downloaded from the author's website.

Writes settings to: Application folder and Windows registry (Sysinternals utilities)
Unicode support: Yes
License: Free for personal use
How to extract: Download the "Portable" ZIP package and extract to a folder of your choice. Launch wscc.exe.

Sorry, sl23, no insight on that, since I'm not a user of either SyMenu or PAF portables -- I prefer to roll my own... :)

Notwithstanding, if still interested, check the following forum topic: http://www.portablefreeware.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=21891 ...

TP109 on 2016-04-16 12:34

The download page shows 2.5.1.0 as the freeware version, 3.0.0.0 appears to be the payware version.

DxWnd lets you run many applications that default to fullscreen in a window, ideal for games. The program is a Win32 "hooker" program that intercepts and alters the behavior of window messages and APIs. It picks up events and injects code into the configured tasks to run fullscreen programs in a windowed environment while maintaining expected behavior.

Who are you? Like if gho the main guy behind DxWnd move over to Github, only then I would consider it an "official" repo, but other wise it seems pretty unofficial to me when a random person sets one up.

What are some of your contributions to DxWnd? Why didn't gho set it up instead?

refack on 2017-04-22 14:53

@Special, I'm just helping gho with the "mechanics" of the mirror. He owns and approves the mirror.

Midas on 2017-07-04 10:04

Tip: no help files are included in recent builds, so it is advised you grab v2_04_10 from Sourceforge which has the most up to date files.

BTW, the GitHub repository mentioned above by refack is currently empty.

Since version 3 is AnyBurn as well ISO editor and unarchiver :)

DzejPy on 2016-03-06 12:29

Sorry, the correct version number AnyBurn with the ISO editor is 3.1
Works well. And it's the only free ISO editor (that i know).

turionaltec on 2016-04-13 01:37

Thanks DzejPy. The interface seems clunky, but if it allows modifying bootable ISOs, it could be a winner! I've been looking for a suitable replacement for ImgBurn ever since they added OpenCandy bundleware. This might be it!

Can't you disable it saving temporary files in the options?

opsimathic on 2017-08-12 08:51

@Emka - The first item under OPTIONS look like you can set the utility to delete the jpgs when you exit the program. I have never been very sure the program actually does what it says, so I simply use the second item in OPTIONS to check and delete as necessary. Periodically I use the jpg instead the pdf so I actually find this useful. Bottom line is that I wish the author would clean all this up a bit more, but I find the utility so useful (use it every day almost) that I am prepared to work around the idiosyncrasies.
