Synopsis: Idlebackup is a backup solution for typical use of backing up files such as photos, mp3 or document files. Idlebackup can make a backup to hard-disk, USB drive or network and can also be compressed to a ZIP file.

Synopsis: MozBackup allows you to backup profiles of Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Thunderbird, SeaMonkey, Mozilla Suite and Netscape profiles. This includes important stuff like bookmarks, mail, contacts, history, extensions, cache etc. Hey, you should really be using portable versions of these apps. But if for some reason you can't, MozBackup can help you shuttle profiles between installed versions of these apps on multiple machines.
Writes settings to: None. You can customize some defaults by editing backup.ini in the application folder with a text editor.
How to extract: Download the ZIP file and extract to a folder of your choice. Launch Backup.exe.

Synopsis: Toucan allows you to synchronize, backup and secure your data. It features four synchronization modes: copy, update, mirror and equalize. It creates backups using ZIP or 7-Zip formats. Encryption is based on the AES-256 algorithm.

Synopsis: PaperBack lets you back up files to ordinary paper in the form of the oversized bitmaps. If you have a good laser printer with the 600 dpi resolution, you can save up to 500KB of uncompressed data on a single A4/Letter sheet. With integrated compression, up to 3MB can be stored on one sheet of A4/Letter paper. For data restoration, you will need a scanner with physical resolution that is 3-times the print resolution.

Synopsis: Free Download Manager (FDM) is a file download manager and accelerator. It supports the BitTorrent protocol, built-in file sharing, Flash video download from YouTube, Google Video etc., remote control via the Internet, audio/video partial file preview, site explorer etc.
Writes settings to: Application folder. It writes some values to the registry, but these are not related to any user settings.

How to extract: Download the installer and install to the default folder. Run the program and select File, Create Portable Version to copy the portable version to a folder of your choice. Finally uninstall the program. Launch fdm.exe.
