No need to run the installer, there is a portable version download.

jabuTBackup 2016-09-19 12:11

Exactly. I just changed it recently after several years now =)

:( All I can get is a not available, its sad there are fake sites stealing your hard work, but thanks for the heads up that named these scum sucking bottom feeding wankers.

Really nice program but when editing a profile it can't be saved unless all green ticks, which means a field in an unticked section must be edited even if you don't want to or need to

It would also be good if it backed up all timestamps (Modified, Created, Accessed)

jabuTBackup 2016-10-14 13:43

Hello and thank you for your feedback.
- not available
The download server was offline for serveral time. The server is again online since yesterday.
I'm sorry for that.

- the green ticks
The green ticks are only an indicator. They do not have any function right now.
If you can not save a profile, in general this means something isn't set or the source directory is identical to the destination directory.

These settings are at least mandatory to get a working profile:
- Profile type Express
- Source and destination directory set
- The profile name

If you still have the green ticks, please open the updater (menu ? or F1) and download the updated version.
There are also some litte less important tweaks in the new version which is coming this evening (german time UTC+1 ~8 PM).
The ticks have been removed for the moment because they are not working correctly.

I am really sorry for this problems. I'll do my best to get all this working. For the moment the version coming this evening works fine.
I'll investigate the timestamp problem too before releasing the update this evening.

All feedback is welcome and I'll always read everything to make you a good piece of software =)

well, download is not available yet...

jabuTBackup 2017-01-01 19:47

Hello, currently the download has been disabled due to an incoming (very important) hotfix this evening/night (GMT+1 here).

I'm curious why with most new computers now being X64 why we don't see more often, and is using X86 on a X64 system just asking for trouble, or does it work correctly?

MIKLO 2018-04-07 14:08

Sorry did not see how to edit, I mean 32bit or 64bit which I assume is same as the other, but I'm just guessing.

jabuTBackup 2018-04-07 15:31

I am developing jaBuT 32 bit only because to compile it in 64 bit too it would be cost a bunch of money to get a proper developer licence. jaBuT is being developed in DELPHI (do not mix it up with Pascal). Since the beginning I use a free version of Delphi. The cheapest licence shipped with a 64 bit compiler would cost me about 1900 Euros ( see here: https://www.embarcadero.com/app-development-tools-store/delphi ). Unfortunately I would never be able to buy something like this, so I stick with the free and slimmed down developer licence + development environment which compiles 32 bit only executables.

32 bit software runs fine on 64 bit operating systems. There are some limitations but normally jaBuT should never hit them. In some cases it's possible to hit the limits (limited memory addressing), but I've added a few things to hopefully avoid this.

I hope I could help you.

Best regards

Have you tried deleting multiple instances of identical posts by just clicking on the "deletion bin" icon ?...;-)

jabuTBackup 2018-04-07 17:12

I hope it's ok. I posted the question and answer here:

I can delete the double posts if you want.

__philippe 2018-04-07 17:19

Fine, thanks.
Can't see many double posts of yours, do you ?

jabuTBackup 2018-04-07 17:23

I mean MIKLOs double posts (3 times the same one, 2 could be deleted if it's OK).

__philippe 2018-04-07 17:31

Regular users like you and me can only delete their OWN posts, sorry...;-)

Midas 2018-04-07 20:47

If two different users click the delete button, the comment will be deleted. I tried just now with the repeated comments but could only make one of them go away...

__philippe 2018-04-07 21:18

Hehe, didn't know that...;-)

Anyway, just heeded your tip, and blasted the last offending repeater to smithereens !
How satisfying...;-)
