SoftPerfect NetWorx helps collect bandwidth usage data and measure the speed of your Internet or any other network connection. NetWorx can help you identify possible sources of network problems, ensure that you do not exceed the bandwidth limits specified by your ISP, or track down suspicious network activity characteristic of malicious programs/hacks.

The program allows you to monitor all your network connections or a specific network connection (such as Ethernet or PPP) only. The incoming and outgoing traffic is represented on a line chart and logged to a file, so that you can always view statistics about your daily, weekly and monthly bandwidth usage and dialup duration. Reports can be exported to a variety of formats, such as HTML, MS Word and Excel, for further analysis.

A 64-bit version is available (within the folder).

Note: this project has gone commercial. Linking to the last available freeware version.

System Requirements: WinXP / Vista / Win7 / Win8 / Win10
Writes settings to: Application folder
Dependencies: Administrator rights
Stealth: ? Yes
Unicode support: No
License: Freeware
How to extract:
  1. Download the 'portable' ZIP package and extract to a folder of your choice
  2. Select either 32-bit or 64-bit folder (depending on your OS)
  3. Launch networx.exe
Note: Some archive managers (notably PeaZip) don't show the 32-bit and 64-bit folders. In that case, the smaller versions of the files are the 32-bit versions.
Similar/alternative apps: NetMeter
What's new?
  • Fixed showing messages about blocked Internet repeatedly.
  • Apps in automatic reports are sorted by usage rather than name.
  • Added graph time stamps displayed when minute ticks are enabled.
  • Portable versions are restricted to one instance from one location.
  • Minor UI enhancements, updated traffic filtering drivers and DB engine.

This is good stuff! Very nice suite of network tools packed in one well-written program. I love it!

Good tool. Currently use the installed version on all my PCs, but nice to know it comes in a portable version too.

The speed can be seen in real-time in the Tray.

Wow.. It's been a while since I've been excited about a portable app, but this is it. I tried other network monitors listed on this site and this one takes the cake. The greedy crooks at AT&T can kiss my fat jellyroll-laden-ass!

There's a bug where the "tray info" appears in a loop and the only way to remedy is to close it and restart. I also had it freeze on me and I had to kill it via the task manager; I lost about a weeks worth of statistics...

ChipsNHotSauce 2011-06-15 20:08

...and with that said; I've tried others listed on this site and their is no comparison, this one is tops low resource/well designed interface.

Keeps getting better and better. Better than most of the paid bandwidth monitors I've tried

v5.5.2 released !

with v5.5.5, the dl speed is being displayed above the ul speed. with earlier versions, they could be displayed side by side. ( title off, frame border false ).

the dl speed is covered if you have another large enough window. back to 5.5.4.

joby_toss 2016-09-21 12:25

If the window height allows it, they are on top of each other. I keep the floating window's height at one row only and they are displayed side by side.

Being discussed at the forums :,23641,23655#msg-23655

title off & frameless true seems to cause the problem.

joby_toss 2016-09-21 18:13

OK, I see what you mean now. I can replicate your issue, even with the latest snapshot version.

An excellent and essential tool for me, on a very limited broadband plan. However 5.5.5 (64 bit version on Windows 7 Pro 64) forgets my router in 'Monitored Interfaces' and I have to reconfigure every time I reboot. Back to 5.5.4.

"WARNING! To facilitate further development of NetWorx, we are introducing a licence fee. From 1 January 2017 NetWorx will become commercial software.

You can continue using the current free version as long as you like, however all NetWorx files downloaded after 31 December 2016 will require a licence key to work beyond the free trial period."

Sad news. The best bandwidth monitor I've used.
