mcAfee is reporting that there is a Trojan in this file. Anyone else has problems with the installation from the original site? (Version (Build date: 06/27/03))

No problems here. However, make sure you set it to monitor all available network interfaces if you intend to run it off a USB stick - otherwise you'll get errors when it can't find a network interface that isn't there.

Only works on netowrk interfaces, you cannot put in IP addresses to montior.

Am I the only person who can't extract this? The only link I can find is for a .exe and the newest Universal Extractor doesn't seem to work with it.

Hank7 2007-06-25 15:12

No you're not, I've been trying to download that file for days now. I only get a 0KB file that Windows doesn't let me delete unless I reboot.

Erind 2007-06-25 16:20

I get a valid .exe file, but the only apparent way to get the netmeter.exe file is to fully install, grab the .exe and then uninstall.

I too am having a problem extracting it. I don't know if this is the reason or not, but when I download the file, it is 601KB, but the website for the download says the file should be 615KB.

Lyndon 2007-08-16 17:40

The file I downloaded was also 601KB. It extracted and works perfectly as documented above

Some of the users above *may* have problems extracting because they need the latest innoup extractor: Click on "download" and then click the green download icon on the same line as "innounp". On the next page get the Innoup Setup Unpacker (innounp019.rar at this writing). Open the RAR file and copy the EXE to your Universal Extractor /BIN folder.

Is the program worth the fuss? Its cute but there is another bandwidth monitor that might do what you want:

The options are written in application folder of local computer. Is it possible to correct this?

How is it portable? Settings in AppData\Roaming\NetMeter

joby_toss 2013-06-23 12:49

It should be portable on XP. Not on Vista and up. :(

loin2kolpotoru 2013-06-23 16:37

The last release of NetMeter is Version 1.1.4 BETA.

You mean 1.1.41 BETA. That's Oopepe's mod (see jt's comment above). It's not portable.
