Technically it falls under the category of shareware; however, the freeware viewer/annotation and some basic editing is not time limited. If you "hide" the licensed features (either in File, Preferences, Registration, or under Help, License Key), then everything you see in the menus or context menus is free, indefinitely. I've been using this version for many years now without incident or watermarks showing up.

@dekahog & Cornflower: So have I... (y)

vubogia82 on 2024-05-16 13:59

more than 70% free functions for basic tasks without any ads, the software is really great, can edit text without watermark, if you just need basic viewing and editing then it wins For you, advanced functions need to purchase a license.

A few operational changes in v1.10.0 I've noticed:

Loads more quickly (my perception)
It does Booklet correctly.
Split pages works easier.
New feature: Merge Pages (onto the same sheet)!

Cornflower on 2024-01-11 05:11

This note on the download page:

(As the Windows binaries of version 1.10.0 are supplied with Python 3.10, they are not released with 1.10.1. Windows users should keep using version 1.10.0)

ChromeHistoryView v1.30 realeased 14-MAR-2017

Changelog: Version 1.30
"Added new columns: 'Transition Type' and 'Transition Qualifiers'."
"You can read about the meaning of these fields here and here."

Since the Readme.txt file "here and here" pointers lead to...never-never land,
(and the equivalent *.chm help file entry generates some obscure error message)
the following real pointers might perhaps be more helpful in clarifying the added fields gist :

Transition Qualifiers explained:

(Thanks @billon who obligingly provided alternative pointers in the What's new entry...;-)

Why are you cutting the actual version number off? OutWiker is at version, not 1.9.0, pay attention to what "About" says. I disagree with this practice of yours!

zorro on 2016-09-29 12:11

Even with outwiker.ini not stealth: creates folder "enchant" in AppData/roaming/

Having the entire UI refresh upon selecting a new note/wiki was a deal breaker for me.

Zim v0.75.2

Andrew Lee on 13 Jul 2023
  • 67MB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 7 Jul 2023
  • Suggested by Midas

Zim is desktop Wiki system that lets you maintain a collection of wiki pages. Each page can contain links to other pages, simple formatting and images. Pages are stored in a folder structure, like in an outliner, and can have attachments. Creating a new page is as easy as linking to a nonexistent page. All data is stored in plain text files with wiki formatting. Various plugins provide additional functionality, like a task list manager, an equation editor, a tray icon, and support for version control.

Zim can be used to:

  • Keep an archive of notes
  • Keep a daily or weekly journal
  • Take notes during meetings or lectures
  • Organize task lists
  • Draft blog entries and emails
  • Do brainstorming
Currently, Zim is only supported on 64-bit version of Windows 10. 32-bit Windows is not supported.

Runs on:Win10
Writes settings to: Application folder
Unicode support: Yes
License: Freeware/Open Source
How to extract: Download the installer and run. You will be given the option to install a portable version to a folder of your choice. Also, make sure to deselect ".zim file association" and "Create registry keys and uninstaller" as these are enabled by default.

After installation, do not select run. Instead, go to the destination folder and edit environ.ini:

Basically, the default values are relative paths "../" that points to the outer directory and we want to point them to the base directory.

Finally, launch zim.exe.

Works great I have been using it for 2 years with no significant errors or bugs. Works well with ASP, PHP, MYSQL.

Has advanced features like easy web interface, hosts addition features. Log works with Webalizer and I use baretail to view logs in realtime

Cattleya on 2014-07-11 02:56

Hi, anyone here know why I cannot connect to (Abyss configuration page) when using Privoxy, is there a workaround ?
If I use No Proxy then ok but not when Privoxy enabled. I tried other web server app like Xampp or Tiny Webserver then ok, only Abyss have this problem ?

webfork on 2014-07-12 21:10

Cattleya: have you tried changing the admin port (away from 9999)? Privoxy might be redirecting it for some reason.

I found this in the Help file:
"All versions of iDailyDiary have always encrypted the diary data files, whether they are password protected or not. From version 3.00 the encryption has been improved to a 128bit Blowfish cipher."
