WebBrowserPassView is a password recovery tool that reveals the passwords stored by Internet Explorer ( 4-8 ), all versions of Firefox, Chrome, and Opera. This tool can be used to recover your lost/forgotten password of any website, including popular Web sites, like Facebook, Yahoo, Google, and GMail, as long as the password is stored by your Web Browser.
Currently, WebBrowserPassView cannot retrieve the passwords if they are encrypted with a master password.
To work with Chrome and Opera portable versions, go to 'options' and set the location of the portable browser folder. Select the user data folder in Chrome, and wand.dat for Opera. (Thanks to user "deer".)

Could someone confirm deer's note and I'll add it to the program description? |
Bandizip is an archive tool that supports the creation and extraction of common compression formats, as well as the specialized ZIPX format (from the makers of WinZip). Supports a customizable interface, the searching of archives by file name, file splitting, password protection, self-extracting archives, and varying levels of compression. Also supports the creation and extraction of more specialized formats from 7-zip and WinRAR.
Additionally, Bandizip's "High Speed Archiving" function will allow you to compress or bypass the files its own algorithm on multimedia files (AVI, WMV, MP3...) or archive files (ZIP, RAR, 7Z...) that won't benefit from additional compression. This can increase archiving speed dramatically. Extract formats supported include 7Z, ZIPX, RAR, ALZ, EGG, TAR, BH, LZH, BZ2, ISO, CAB, WIM, XZ, ARJ, ZIP, Z and more.
Supports both 32 and 64-bit, as well as 29 world languages. A portable beta version is also available.

Oh, and why is there never a change log shown for Bandizip's updates? I've even had that problem on their site.

Thanks, Midas! My mistake; I kept looking in the Bandizip forum, rather than the Bandisoft announcements. |
KeePass is a password manager that helps you store and manage your passwords in a secure way. You can put all your passwords in one database, which is locked with one master key or a key-disk. You need only remember one single master password to unlock the whole database, which is encrypted using AES and Twofish algorithms.
The program includes a strong automatic password generator, expire dates, customized icons and categories, etc.
Note: Since V2.x requires the .NET framework, we only track changes for V1.x for the database.
Alternatively, KeePass Password Safe Portable and X-KeePass are also available.

Been using this program since early 2007 and don't know how I could do without. Truly a grand piece of art!

gpg4usb is a basic, tabbed notepad tool with easy-to-use text and file encryption tools. Use of Gnu Privacy Guard (GPG) encryption means you can exchange secure information with someone you've never met, where most programs which require a communicated password. Additionally, users can digitally "sign" and verify text and files to help verify integrity or ownership.
Users need only exchange a "public key" with one another in order to communicate. New users will need to generate a key, while users of other compatible software can import their existing keys.
GPG is a compatible, open source alternative to commercial PGP.

I set up gpg4usb 0.3.2 on my thumbdrive and was glad my suggestion was implemented. I generated a 16384 bit key on my 2.53Ghz P4 3Gig RAM system and it took 11.5 hours to generate. It's a good thing I let the system operate overnight on this.

Other archive programs can make RAR files, they are just not allowed to "compress" using the RAR format. They may, however, "store" files using the RAR format. Only WinRAR has the license to use the RAR compression, but others may use the RAR storage. There is a valid distinction here.

I just downloaded and tested this. For converting to RAR compression types, you have to place WinRAR.EXE in the application directory. Still, a handy utility.

While not a dealbreaker, the WinRAR issue continues. The drop down for the target format includes two identical entries: |
