Blowfish Advanced CS v2.57 New

webfork on 14 May 2013

Blowfish Advanced CS is a file encryption and disk wipe program. Encryption keys can come from a password or disk, and can use a variety of encryption algorithms and compression options. The program can use a cached key to allow quick encryption/decryption (only enter the password once) while the program is running, making the files accessible without user interaction. By default, a 60 second time limit can be set to avoid giving constant access to secured files.

Although named for the Blowfish algorithm, a variety of encryption methods are available including AES, Twofish, Serpent, TriDES, and more.

Fast and convenient encryption/decryption! Very nice utility.

webfork on 2013-05-13 05:00

Very cool program for use with the various different "cloud" services out there. Using the key caching, encrypted files can be viewed seamlessly on your local machine, without the hosting service having any idea of it's content.

SteganoG v1.21 New

webfork on 13 May 2013

SteganoG hides an encrypted file inside a image file (bitmap) and acts as a carrier. Also known as steganography, this program also adds a variety of encryption algorithms including Blowfish, TEA, RC4, Skipjack and Twofish.

Although the program usually auto-detects your system language settings, the program occasionally starts in German. To change it, choose Settings - Sprache

Does not seem to decrypt properly when using blowfish. I am unsure if it is the encrypt of decrypt side that is causing the issue. RC4 encryption works perfectly.

kiest on 2010-07-23 02:51

Does not encrypt/decrypt properly with all methods, but RC4 works fine. When CompressData is enabled, the decrypted file is smaller sized. When CompressData is disabled, the decrypted file seems to be the correct size but it is not the original file (checksum mismatch/content unreadable).

PWGen v2.2.1 Updated

Checker on 2 Mar 2013

PWGen is a random password (or data file) generator and text encryption tool. For passwords, the program can create lists of random characters or pass-phrases from word lists and uses mouse/keyboard activity to gather more entropy. For both encryption and password generation, the program uses an open, standard algorithm (AES 256).

Advanced features include password generation with the removal of ambiguous characters such as "0" and "O" or lowercase "L" vs. "I". Can also force the inclusion of at least one lowercase, uppercase, and/or special characters often required by organization password policies.

Languages (additional) are downloadable from the website Italian, Ukrainian, Russian, Polish, and Swedish

Ha ha :o)

I love that sort of humour !

I think you meant to say …

“Is the definition of Stealth completely dead or what ??? “

webfork on 2010-09-25 16:07

tallium: please post in forums about what settings its leaving behind

Still my favorite password generator. The gaijin.at Password Generator program (since removed from the database) was the closest to a competition, but PWGen's open code, license, and extras make it ideal.

gpg4usb v0.3.2-1

Checker on 12 Sep 2012
  • 18MB (uncompressed)
  • Suggested by gpg4usb

gpg4usb is a basic, tabbed notepad tool with easy-to-use text and file encryption tools. Use of Gnu Privacy Guard (GPG) encryption means you can exchange secure information with someone you've never met, where most programs which require a communicated password. Additionally, users can digitally "sign" and verify text and files to help verify integrity or ownership.

Users need only exchange a "public key" with one another in order to communicate. New users will need to generate a key, while users of other compatible software can import their existing keys.

GPG is a compatible, open source alternative to commercial PGP.

I set up gpg4usb 0.3.2 on my thumbdrive and was glad my suggestion was implemented. I generated a 16384 bit key on my 2.53Ghz P4 3Gig RAM system and it took 11.5 hours to generate. It's a good thing I let the system operate overnight on this.

gpg4usb on 2012-04-18 12:16

Hello,

In the last week we integrated 4 new languages.

@procyon: Thanks for the hint, we've put it on our bug list and already located the appropriate line in source, which causes this bug. So this will be fixed in the next release.

@mixture: We weren't sure, if we should integrate this, because it could confuse beginners, who read in other tutorials, that the should use the maximum keysize possible. Would be great, if you write your opinion to our mailing list. In fact we're not sure, if we should reduce the maximum key size again to 8192 (which is the maximum key size of any other gpg program We know).

@webfork: We've already integrated generation of RSA keys for the next release. So this will be possible soon. And the size of the DSA key is always 1024 bit (given by gpgme I think), the size of the EL Gamal subkey can be set higher...

gpg4usb on 2012-09-11 19:48

gpg4usb 0.3.2-1 released today!

0.3.2-1 generates safer gnupg-keys by default, with RSA and 1024bit minimum.
Including gpg binary was updated to version 1.4.12.

Bugfix:
Fix creation of empty Windows registry key on import from existing GnuPG

Loaded but still private...

Mixture on 2011-12-29 16:39

Cosimo, shouldn't you admit that the actual file limit is only 64Mb in the lowest Noise/Data ratio (300%). The actual text limit is a limited 46k in the same Noise/Data ratio. That mean's a 64Mb file automatically grows 4 times bigger and there's nothing you can you about it! A 46k text file grows over 5 fatter! What good it that?

Mixture on 2012-07-28 03:41

I tested version 2.00 of this bizarre software. It doesn't look any better. It certainly hasn't performed any better. Still the same old bad limitations. I would not recommend this software.
