Although a little difficult to figure out, have successfully used this to defragment fragmented .ISO files resulting from an AnyBurn .IMG file conversion.

I lost a lot of time, thought I was doing something wrong.

This is currently my go-to program. I tend to add it to the "send to" menu on machines I'm currently using and it works beautifully to check one or more files. Also, the ability to insert the hash directly into the file name makes so much sense. Just drag-and-drop it into the window and instantly know if there's a problem. Great solution to the multi-step check.

I think there is something wrong with the "CRC into Filename" function. This occurs with files that lack a file extension.

Does this stop automatic restarts after windows updates?

Settings > Power Options > Power & sleep > Sleep (&/or Screen): select value from 1 min to never.

I recommend using KeePass v2 series, because of the flexibility it gives.

Since KeePass upgraded to 2.32 and finally has the encryption algorithm plugin, SERPENT, I switched from portable Password Safe 3.38.01 to portable KeePass 2.32 with TwoFish, Serpent, GOST, and Salsa20 encryption algorithm plugins.

@Orca: TPFC is an entirely volunteer site; what you describe is the result of past policy that has since been changed. Feel free to submit a KeePass 2 entry. Or post in the forums calling attention from the moderator team.

To fill out forms, simply use the typewriter tool in the freeware portable version.

Alternatively, MS word versions from 2013 and above, can convert PDF into Word format, which you can edit as needed. You can then save the document as a Word file or as a PDF document again.

@Cattleya: Make sure you download the zip package, because the installer does the following:
"The kernel mode driver used by CPU-Z is installed on the system, that avoids to install / remove it at every run."
The portable version leaves no driver behind, just tested it.

@kc: I used to do sysadmin for a small non-profit org. 7 pc's and 2 printers, no big deal. I carried all my tools on a pendrive. Off course I had admin-rights, but this is a typical scenario a lot of us are in, so it's not entirely useless, portable is the way to go for sysadmins ;)

CPUZ is old, tired and practically useless. It's heyday was about six years ago. Speccy is a must for today.

The customized versions for different board manufacturers (on the home page) are also portable (download the zip package). The customized versions include the manufacturer's logo as a window background and theme.

Use v 2.x on machines older than 2011 (core, core2, quad) to make bootable usb.

(all 118 of them), including the perennial soul-searching 'whoami' operator...;-)
