Metapath is designed to be a slim file browser, set to open every file with the same application (i.e. a text editor). You can, however, change this setting so that each file opens with its Windows default application, or you can right-click on a file to choose the set application. Simple file manager actions are provided (copy, move, create link, rename, delete, save as...) along with the ability to set a filter and sort by name, file-type, size, or date.
It integrates well with Notepad2 and it's possible to add a "Browse" button to the toolbar, which brings up Metapath (if stored in the same directory.)
The setting for the "target application" (the default application with which to open every file) takes a standard relative path, but the location settings for a "quick viewer" and the "Favorites" folder do not. For example, "\Apps\UniversalViewer\Viewer.exe", but not "..\UniversalViewer\Viewer.exe".

This little utility does have some potential. |
WebSiteZip Packer compiles HTML files into a single file (including all graphics, sounds, linked pages, etc.) with an integrated HTML browser. Ideal for e-books, product catalogs, site demos, manuals, and searchable information distribution.
Sites can be packed into a single EXE or viewed with the included, standalone viewer WSZView.exe for the .WSZ format. Also works as a standard HTML viewer.

Runs on: | Win95 / Win98 / WinME / WinNT / Win2K / WinXP |

Stealth: ? | Yes. Both packer and viewer both operates as stealth applications. However, compiled EXE files extract to and operate from the temp folder and may remain there till you clean them. |

Flush Flash is a simple way to remove all Flash cookies and improve your privacy. More advertisers are using Flash cookies in wake of more users removing those normally on the browser. The program is a much faster and easier way versus Adobe's own Settings Manager.

Nice find juvera. That Evercookie site seemed bent on making itself it own proof of concept -- as I have flash execution blocked, it tried (unsuccessfuly, alas) to spawn a new flash object every few seconds... (See http://minus.com/l5ecx3WJdYUWs) |
CHReader collects a group of related web files along with images, resources, etc. to a single compressed archive up to 4GB. The program then acts as a dedicated local web server and lets you browse the archive locally using your preferred web browser without needing to decompress. This way you can retrieve very large sites with web spiders and keep them in a compact form that can be readily viewed or referenced..
Note: The main website is offline and the project is no longer under development by the author. Linking to Softpedia. (Thanks to Midas and Craunch.)

It's a pity Vibe Streamer has been discontinued. The developer open-sourced it- https://github.com/versionstudio/vibestreamer , but its very unlikely that someone will take over the project. For me Vibe Streamer has two major flaws- it doesn't support Unicode and it can stream only lossy MP3s. |
a-squared HiJackFree allows you to view and edit the configured autoruns, list explorer/browser add-ons, look at installed services, view all currently opened ports, and list all running processes. It helps in the detection and removal of all types of spyware, adware, trojans and worms.

a2hijackfree v31016 seems to corrupt system.ini and win.ini when checking Autoruns. I was forced to scanreg /restore to get Win 98 up & running again.

FreePOPs is an extensible mail proxy that primarily allows checking and downloading email from popular webmail systems using conventional POP3 email clients without a web browser. Most email clients should be set to localhost:2000 as the POP3 server and use the full email address (eg. username@webmail.domain) as the username.

I love it. It makes ma Yahoo mail account usable. Only 1 problem: if you delete the email in your email program the file will be downloaded agsain until it is deleted on yahoo or whatever web mail you use.

gMote provides fast access to frequently-used actions via mouse gestures. By default, drawing a gesture is done by holding the right button down and dragging the mouse pointer across the screen. You may record a "W" shape to launch your favourite browser, a circle to enter your name, an "S" to invoke the Start Menu, a "P" to print etc.

ADRC Data Recovery Tools contains a collection of data recovery tools that supports a wide variety drives and file systems. It enables you to undelete files, create a disk image for backup, restore a backup image, copy files from hard disk with bad sectors, clone a disk, backup/edit/restore your boot parameters etc. As with most tools of this nature, administrator privileges are required to use the tools.
Note: ADRC Data Recovery Tools has the annoying habit of opening its user guide on the web in the web browser on startup. This behaviour cannot be disabled. It is not as stealthy as phoning home without your knowledge, but can be irritating.

It doesn't produce a bit-stream copy (forensic safe). I restored a forensic safe image of a drive and then create an image with this software. I computed the hash values for the images, they don't match. I am albeit leary of this.

I think to produce a forensic copy, you will need to connect the drive to a write block device. You can not use software this way to produce a forensic image.

Note 2: apart from being irritating, it kinda defies the whole purpose of data recovery... |
BFilter is a filtering web proxy originally intended for removing banner ads only, but since then its capabilities have been greatly extended. It detects web ads "heuristically," or similar to modern anti-virus software, as opposed to using blacklists, resulting in much more consistent behavior.
Note: Configuring a portable browser to use BFilter works flawlessly as long as BFilter is running, though it is not recommended to do this with a browser on the host computer. Configuration instructions can be found here.

to find out if it worked, just disable it, and then goto whatsmy.net and see what your ip is, and then reactivate it, and then goback to whatsmy.net and see if your ip changed, if it did, it worked.
