Includes a powerful but lightweight embeddable scripting language (Lua), endless gesture and modifier combinations, granular control over program settings, and actions and the possibility to create global hotkeys for actions without using the mouse.

Non-Admin users: The application will not be able to control other programs running with admin privileges (e.g. maintenance, antivirus, etc.)

Category:
System Requirements: WinXP / Vista / Win7 / Win8 / Win10
Writes settings to: Application folder
Dependencies: Administrator rights are necessary for full functionality.
Stealth: ? Yes
License: Open Source (multiple, primarily MIT)
How to extract: Download the ZIP package and extract to a folder of your choice. Launch StrokesPlus.exe.
What's new?
  • Added code to update all actions when renaming a gesture, so it applies the new gesture name to all existing gestures using the previous name.
  • Reduced gesture scale width/height, certain gestures were showing outside of the view container.

I'd like to note that for Windows Vista+, if you extract the signed version of S+ to a folder under Program Files and manually install the StrokesPlus.cer certificate into Trusted Root Certification Authorities, S+ can be run without administrative privileges and still interact with programs which are running with administrative privileges as well as interact with Windows 8 screens (Start screen, task switcher, etc.).

Yes, I also understand that at that point (installing a certificate), you're no longer really using S+ in a truly portable fashion; but wanted to mention it anyway =)

There is a typo in the link, which is pointing to a non-existent strokesplus_2.7.8.1_x86.zippip, rather than to strokesplus_2.7.8.1_x86.zip

@ AndTheWolf: Thanks for the info ... and sorry for the typo.

Combine this with PopSel and you got a pretty decent file launcher!
Great!

ChemZ on 2011-05-18 10:30

Wrong version number... it's V0.97, not 9.7. Fixed, but everything else is the same.

7-zip can extract from installer.
Move all from $_OUTDIR to program folder
Delete $_OUTDIR, $COMMONFILES and $0
Create empty file strokeit.ini.

gMote provides fast access to frequently-used actions via mouse gestures. By default, drawing a gesture is done by holding the right button down and dragging the mouse pointer across the screen. You may record a "W" shape to launch your favourite browser, a circle to enter your name, an "S" to invoke the Start Menu, a "P" to print etc.

ComputerWorldKraft: StrokeIt is free for personal and non-profit use. The 10 day trial only applies to business usage, which is a common clause for freeware applications. Take the time to actually read the information provided by the author in the future.
