I've had a bit better luck with QuickTextPaste on Win10x64 by using commands other than those that use the "Win" key in combinations. It only sometimes triggers properly. Much better to use CTRL+ALT, CTRL+SHIFT, etc.

hamasaki on 2019-09-19 19:29

It`s not stealth. Creates 'AppData\Roaming\QuickTextPaste\QuickTextPaste.ini' file.

hamasaki on 2019-09-19 19:30

Oops, sorry. Just saw the message about creating the ini file. Too early for me. :(

PointerStick modifies the mouse arrow to appear as a virtual pointer stick. This is helpful for presentations to highlight content and the size, shape and other details of the pointer can be customized.

But my arrow doesn't disappear with the stick.
It is possible to have the stick without original pointer with some effect for every cursor? Like normal, text, link cursor etc.

rogerthedodger on 2012-10-27 02:51

Yes agreed would be more useable if the original arrow was to disappear whilst the stick was on show. I do however like software by this guy, and couldnt live without "always mouse wheel" which is what microsoft should have originally had.

Since I don't see as good as I once did (old eyes)I'm always interested in a way to make a pointer BIGGER. Thanks.

Driver Magician Lite v4.98 Updated

billon on 3 Aug 2020
  • 4MB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 3 Aug 2020
  • Suggested by Carl

Driver Magician Lite identifies all the hardware in your system, extracts the associated drivers and backs them up to a location of your choice. Later, when you need to reinstall/upgrade Windows, you can restore all the saved drivers just as if you had the original driver diskettes in your hands. This is especially useful if you inherited an old machine or bought a white box system and did not receive all the original driver discs.

Category:
System requirements: WinXP / Vista / Win7 / Win8 / Win10
Writes settings to: Windows registry. It remembers the folder that you last select to write the backup files to, which does not affect portability.
Stealth: ? No
License: Freeware
How to extract: Download the "Portable" ZIP package and extract to a folder of your choice. Launch Driver Magician Lite.exe.

Driver Magician Lite is currently at version 4.53

gbrao on 2018-06-28 08:11

With 4.76, I did not find any entries in the registry. Nor did it remember the last backup folder.

Dave Bee on 2019-06-15 10:40

I was just wondering what is wrong with backing up the drivers using Windows itself? That's what I've been doing for a long time. If I ever need to reinstall a driver, I just point Windows to the folder where all the drivers are backed up, and Windows will find and install the specific driver(s). Why would you even need this program at all? Make a new folder on your C drive (I find that easiest), then just run an administrator command prompt, and run the following command: dism /online /export-driver /destination:"C:\New Folder" Windows will back up your drivers, and you can then copy/cut/rename the new folder to whatever/wherever you want. Works for me.

FastCopy v3.92 Updated

billon on 2 Aug 2020
  • 705KB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 2 Aug 2020
  • Suggested by pplknownothin

FastCopy is a file copy and synchronization tool with a variety of available extras. It uses different strategies (multi-threading, buffering) to help ensure maximum device throughput, as well as optional verification to make sure data is transferred correctly. It does not use the system cache, so other processes do not get bogged down during the copy process and a speed setting is also available, including pause. It supports Unix-style include/exclude wildcards filters.

Alternatively, PortableApps.com packages the last open source version as FastCopy Portable.

JudyGarland - What about that low level access in ver.3.54? Was it doing anything bad?

rb161 on 2019-06-13 13:01

Very handy for big copying jobs. It lets you carry on working without the transfer bogging down everything else.
