Has anyone tested recently if SC portability shortcomings are still extant?

ripu on 2015-02-18 09:00

@Midas I only tried the screenshot feature, and it did not create HKEY_CURRENT_USER\RtColorPicker or any other registry entry.

@ripu: thanks for reporting.

Spacebar controls the highlighted button when GifCam is in focus (if it's the Rec button, then you can start/stop recording). No global hotkeys yet.

Special on 2015-05-30 19:24

This now writes settings to the user\current\AppData\Roaming\GifCam folder.

smaragdus on 2015-09-25 23:10

I managed to grab GifCam 4.0 and GifCam 4.5 using Archive.Org but earlier versions were unrecoverable.
The lack of hot keys is awkward. Saving to GIF is very slow. And yes, GifCam 5.0 is not portable.

you said
"@Napiophelios
These are Trolltech (Qt framework) keys."

so I thought I might have missed a memo some where and maybe they were normal keys made
unavoidable I dont know

I am Baas on 2013-05-25 04:38

Napiophelios is right, it does write Trolltech junk to the registry. The "hats off" award obviously goes to him.
