I added the commands famulus and "famulus ini" to manually add/edit commands and settings (and use the mouse less). This is a great find. Thanks, dmg.

It should be pointed out that this tool only works on old versions of Opera (below version 15). Today Opera is based on the code of Chrome Web browser, so you should use ChromeCacheView, which also works with Windows 10.

Great for small companies and intranets. If you are on a network with a lot of people sharing a lot of files without much control over that, it can be hard to track down the information you need. This lets you find what you need across multiple shares on multiple computers.

For those who use AdBlock, pause AdBlock before you download, (if not) you will not receive the file!

Leaves a folder in AppData

shaegar on 2012-04-12 09:34

sorry, but it is not really portable, the user.config is stored in AppData in a folder dependend on the location of the exe. This is a typically .NET behavior. If you move your exe, your settings will be lost.

mik.y on 2013-09-11 09:24

Your folders will be moved to recycle bin, so you dont have to worry. Nice app, but author of this app should really learn to use some kind of config file like shaegar said:D

I cannot open the .hlp file. Any suggestions?

__philippe on 2017-10-09 21:25

@Provy

TextDiff.hlp is a windows 3.x Help file. Under Win XP, Explorer will open it just fine.

Under Win7, however, Explorer will barf about an unsupported old file format,
but does suggest to download some sort of conversion utility.

Alternatively, TextDiff.hlp file contents could be converted (under winXP) to a PDF document.
PM me with your email if you want it.

Pendrive on 2023-06-06 10:04

The required winhlp32.exe to read the TextDiff.hlp file is available in three different versions (Win XP, 7 and 10) from https://archive.org/details/microsoft_help_viewer_hlp.

Outstanding file manager for when you constantly work with a set list of folders. The tabbed interface, bookmarks, and ability to save sessions makes navigating folders easy and simple. I would have great difficulty on Vista/Win7 without it.

rodger123 on 2012-10-15 05:34

Portable version on authors site does not write to the registry at all-I like the stack feature as I can drag files there and then drag them to a folder on my external drive,a little buggy but very useful-could not live without it!

hamasaki on 2014-06-22 13:45

Very nice file manager. Really nice interface. A little buggy at times, but overall very good. I like the fact you can build your own tree via categories in the left menu, rather than the default c drive tree view others have. Means I can have only relevant folders showing.

You can have a somewhat complicated folder structure you built for a project and want to use it in a new one

Vixay on 2010-03-23 05:33

I was the one that gave the idea to SKWIRE for this program. What I needed it for was to replicate the file structure of the target system (production) on my developer machine so I could test out my scripts on file naming and manipulation. The advantage was I didn't have to copy the entire 50GB but only one zip file to recreate the structure :)

MCBastos on 2011-10-22 00:44

Another possible situation is when you are going to copy a LOT of files from one disk to another. By first creating the empty files, you end up with all the directories together and defragged, instead of fragmented all over the disk. Then, when you overwrite the empty files with the real files, the directories stay defragmented.
That's why Microsoft's Robocopy utility has the /CREATE switch, by the way. It does exactly what this utility does, and is already installed in every Windows since XP.

Drop Zone v1.0.3

Checker on 24 May 2015
  • 1MB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 7 Nov 2011
  • Suggested by Checker

Drop Zone creates simple windows to quickly manage files. After dropping files or folders onto the program window, a menu of paths you've configured will pop up, allowing you to quickly copy or move files to those destinations. This organization tool is useful for users who deal with many small files or have a short list of frequent folder destinations.

To create multiple drop zones, simply make copies of DropZone.exe, rename them to something unique (e.g. DropZone1.exe, DropZone2.exe, etc.), and launch all. Since the program supports multiple instances, each drop zone can be configured independently.

  • If there is only one configured destination, the destination menu will no longer pop up (saving you a click).

Can't you do this with right-click dragging a folder to the desktop and "create shortcut"?

Erkhyan on 2012-01-20 08:21

Awoodby> …and by manually reconfiguring every single one of your shortcuts every time you switch computers?

awoodby on 2012-01-25 19:46

Ah, right, very good point, that IS handy, to make quick links to your storage folders. You can make a folder on the thumb drive "sort_folder", then make shortcuts to folders within that, then put a shortcut to "sort_folder", but not as easy as this app. Good job in finding an app to make that's somewhat original these days.
