Brynhildr v.2.6.0 can still be downloaded from the author's website. But the "visibility" of the download link may (not sure) depend on the browser's capabilities.
On the web site page, look for download and click on 2.6.0
(It worked for me with both Chrome and SeaMonkey).

Oh, when you're connecting to the PC when at home via another device, just use the LAN IP assigned to it instead of the address you set up on FreeDNS.

Please try using a Dynamic DNS service such as FreeDNS (http://freedns.afraid.org/) and connecting to the address you've set up on there after making sure to forward the port that you assigned to the Brynhildr server running on your PC.

I have a great interest in this application. It's the kind of software I've been looking after for a long time. Tiny and portable, what else I could ask for. Alas, I'm failing to make it work over the Internet. All machines I tested are in LAN (have a LAN IP behind a WAN IP). Can anyone give me some advice? Relay mode didn't work. Searching author's site (using Google Translate) produced no answers. TIA for any insight.

I like the fact that it uses less than 5 MB of RAM when idle and around 150-200 MB when its streaming audio/video to another device. In regards to CPU usage, it uses less than 5% when idle and around 20-30% when streaming audio/video to another device. I use it to stream to the QtBrynhildr program (a QT client for Brynhildr) that is running on my Pandora console (which uses Angstrom Linux) while I'm not near my PC.
