Very nice interface but this is just soooooooooo slow.
I tried this out waited a while, put on Foldersize

WinDirStatPortable is another option for that kind of software

Tested the new version (1.8.0) against GetFoldersize (also listed at this site), and it scans incredibly faster so I discarded GetFoldersize and went for this instead.
But my firewall warns that it wants internet connection without any obvious reason!

Yes version 1.8 rocks. I tested it too.
Want internet connection only at the end of the setup to display the tutorial page:
http://www.mindgems.com/products/Folder-Size/Folder-Size-Tutorials.htm

or if you use the three download buttons on the top.

Indeed I tested Folder Size against several other tools and it works much faster. It is great that MindGems provides this tool absolutely free.

If you have not noticed they have also a free duplicate file finder:
http://www.mindgems.com/products/Fast-Duplicate-File-Finder/Fast-Duplicate-File-Finder-About.htm

I love it too though the "Similarity Mode" is available only in the PRO version.

The portable 1.9 stores the log file in the app folder so this should be listed as stealth.
Great app.

Not a bad program but SpaceMonger is way faster.

V1.9.5.0

I am Baas 2012-01-24 06:01

Entry updated. It writes the log file to the application folder (thanks Joe). However, it seems to call home at the application startup and I could not figure out how to disable this behaviour (anyone?). Also, it does not display the correct dates in the "Created", 'Modified" and "Accessed" columns.

Mike: SpaceMonger is way slower and on top of that does not provide accurate results.

Love it!
Wolfghost use a better antivirus. The file is totally safe. I used viru*total dot com to scan it online and 50+ antivirus tools reported it CLEAN...so it seems yours is the one that needs fixing.

I prefer TreeSize Free - it's fast, presents all the information you need and you can even filter your search results.

http://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=36

It also scans network attached storage and network shares. Perfect solution for me.
