Xinorbis Free v8.0.15 Updated

billon on 23 Jun 2017
  • 16MB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 22 Jun 2017
  • Suggested by The IceMan

Xinorbis Free is a powerful data analyzer that provides an intelligent view of drive or directory contents. The program makes visible the contents, structure, file distribution, with a mix of graphs, tables, and tree displays.

Unlike other space usage programs that focus on just tracking down space hogs, Xinorbis helps deliver a better overall understanding of your machine's data. The program includes feature-rich report generation with a variety of export options and ability to compare how contents have changed between reports.

Thanks Guido76. It's still labelled as 8.0.5 but it's a new version and working here too

Emka on 2017-03-04 13:44

It doesn't display some German special characters correctly (e.g. ß), and more importantly, it shows a "buy the pro version" nagscreen upon exit and opens the product homepage in the system's standard browser.

Guido76 on 2017-03-04 14:30

Emka, you're right. Some problems with the French language too. And a very annoying nag-screen, and automatic launch of the browser. Too bad!
I will try to see this with the author, but I suppose that is part of his strategy to force the sale of the Pro version, so there is only little chance to make him change his mind!

In the web page say, (in GetFoldersize Features):
...Different Themes to style the user interface to suit your personal preferences...
I can't find how.
Anybody have a clue?
Thanks

The developer of GetFoldersize was kind enough to promise to restore the smaller icons in the next release.

The small icons are back! ;)

@Ennovy
Thanks for the tip, your workaround really worked! Anyway, I notified the developer about this problem.

gbrao on 2017-04-29 05:19

http://www.jam-software.com/knowledgebase/7085

In file "GlobalOptions.xml" Search for the text "True" and replace it with "False"
Save the file and close the editor. TreeSize Free will now start without the ribbon interface.

Ennovy on 2017-04-29 05:50

@gbrao Thank you

Search for the text UseRibbonUI and replace true with false

A better natively portable app can be found here:

Jan'sFolderSize v1.31 : Oldie but Goodie product !

Belatedly noted JFS scores 9/60 on Vir*sTotal, mildly concerning results most probably imputable
to JFS *.exe being packed with ASPack compressor, which many vir*s checkers tend to frown upon.

No matter, JFS has been running forever with aplomb and without any apparent side effect on my overly oldie XP machine...;-)

MIKLO on 2017-04-03 14:59

@sarahwilliams25 I will be the judge of what is the "better" app,as I'm sure others are also capable of making the same choice for themselves thank you :)
