The portable ZIP did not work, but the extracted installer files worked fine for me without running as admin.

Only notice webfork's comment today. Used Universal Extractor 2 to extract to a new folder and ran vv.exe. Still unable to get portable version to run, even as administrator.

it works if you run vv.exe "as administrator".

@PAFuser or @david.lynch: could you post in forums about your specific setup/steps? I'm not having any issues with the portable version, but I'd like to add a link to an alternative setup in case someone else has similar issues. Thanks.

Thank you david.lynch! Could not get portable zip or portable self-extracting to work in Windows10 2020 Fall 64bit, a DLL problem. Extracted installer version and it works.

Noted - thank you, @webfork.

Also, I've noticed that the installer version still works fine as a portable - you just have to extract using Universal Extractor.

@david.lynch - Handbrake has a lot of similar features and has been in development forever so probably won't stop like V2V. I've added it to the listed alternative apps.

Thanks, Midas! Contacted them, let's see if something comes up.

This is such a great app - which one could replace it? Need to easily join large H.264/265 videos.

Midas 2020-08-02 09:59

@david.lynch: Most likely...

Note how V2V last changelog entry states an update to v1.2 of the FFmpeg libraries, which were released back in 2013 (check

Not being updated for a long time, and isn't running on any recent Windows 10 anymore.

Was it abandoned?
