Only notice webfork's comment today. Used Universal Extractor 2 https://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=2764 to extract to a new folder and ran vv.exe. Still unable to get portable version to run, even as administrator.

Nice software. The only downside is they made it stupidly complicated to sync. And, as of this instant, I haven't figured out to have it sync automatically. Who wants to have to remember to sync????

When called from tray, "Notes Manager" took about 10 seconds to show up, this is awkward and frustrating. Overall the program does not behave well on Windows 8 x64. |
BluetoothView is a small utility that runs in the background and monitors the activity of Bluetooth devices around you. For each detected Bluetooth device, it displays the following information: Device Name, Bluetooth Address, Major Device Type, Minor Device Type, First Detection Time, Last Detection Time etc. BluetoothView can also notify you when a new Bluetooth device is detected, by displaying a balloon in the taskbar or by playing a small beep sound.
Created for Windows XP/SP2, Windows Vista and Windows 7. "Other versions of Windows don't provide a build-in support for Bluetooth, and thus BluetoothView cannot work with them."

This doesn't seem quite ready for prime time yet. The website claims you can change font colors - a good idea, since the default color on my XP machine is dark grey on black. But there doesn't seem to be any way to do this from the menu, and no documentation to help with that. |
TwistedBrush is a complete utility for artists with a simple to use and intuitive interface. Comes with artistic brushes, layers, realistic media, photo cloning, tracing, masks, particles, filters, script recording, and scripts to AVI. The program supports drawing tablets, patterns, textures, Adobe compatible plug-in support, integrated scanner support, drawing guides, reference image views, dirty brushes, scratch layer, dynamic palettes and a whole lot more.
The free edition of TwistedBrush with most of the great features of the commercial version apart from brush editing and fewer included brushes. The program comes with a tutorial that appears at startup, which is recommended.
NOTE: the website no longer mentions this free version -- linking to Softpedia (thanks billon).

I was one of the many people begging for Songbird Portable back when it was just a "hatchling". I believe it took 1-2 years before an official portable version was made -- by that time Foobar2000 became my inseparable best mate. Sure Songbird is the new kid on the block and Speed, memory and no itunes support will probably be it's Achilles heal, but it has a lot of potential through add-ons and it's web support.

Simple Duplicate Finder helps track down similar files either to delete extras and save space or to compare versions. While most duplicate-searching programs are looking for exact copies, SDF uses a Percentage Search, allowing you to adjust the percentage difference required for a file to be considered a duplicate. Once scanned, the program will display the number of bytes which differ as well as the specific percentage match between files.
This is useful for example with metadata: when Windows Image Import tool downloads pictures from your digital camera, additional XML data is inserted into the images and video files, including a timestamp of when the image was downloaded to the computer. Although the image is identical in every way to its original, the file will appear as unique. SDF can detect these files and help remove them.
Note: main site appears to be down, switched to archive.org

Added Extension filter to search only for specific file types. Bugfix, empty directory search could cause previous version to hang. Updated program icon to be compatable with olders versions of windows. ----Version 1.2.0.0---- Code optimization for increased speed. Added ability to compare files which sizes are not identical, but within percentage match. Total progress now still displayed during a large file compare. ----Version 1.2.0.1---- Fixed a sort problem where text could be incorrect for an item ----Version 1.2.0.2---- Increased sort speed ----Version 1.2.0.3---- Renamed program to "Simple Duplicate Finder" since someone stole my other program name |

M3U Dropper creates, imports, and organizes playlist files that take selections from an audio/video collection and put them in an order of your choice. This is useful for example in creating a mix of songs or videos with a specific mood or purpose. As the name suggests, the program creates M3U files which are used in most software players (Winamp, Foobar, Songbird, etc.) and many hardware players (including the iPod). Can also output to and import from other playlist formats including M3U8, PLS, and WPL.
Although other programs can generate playlist files, M3U Dropper uses a more portable method of relative pathways.
