Collection of useful command line utilities (32bit):
- PosSize: changes size and position of the active window, multimonitor. I use it with HotkeyP (http://petr.lastovicka.sweb.cz/others.html) for the WIN+Numpad-keys
- KeybLed: displays the current status of keyboard lock keys in the system tray.
- NetTime: synchronize the PC clock with any SNTP server.
- SendKey: Keyboard macros, program/windows-based.
- DirDate: sets the date of directories.
- Drives: shows for each active drive (if disk inserted!) a small icon in the tray.
- PInput: Password entry for BATCH files and programs.
- CDInfo: reads information of a music CD from the internet (freedb.org) to the clipboard.
- SysUtil: some system functions: empty trash, reboot, shutdown etc.
- TempDel: deletes whole directory structures (like the old DELTREE.EXE).
- ToClip: sends a string (command line) to the clipboard
- ToIni: writes data (command line) to an INI-file
- File2Clip: sends a textfile to the clipboard
for a short help: start the program without command line parameters!

QtWeb is a web browser focused on strong privacy and a clean environment. While running, no traces are left on the host machine while browsing and none are left behind after a browser "reset" in the privacy menu. All toolbars, including navigation bar, can be turned off or docked anywhere, and even moved outside the main browsing window. Includes built-in support for Torrent downloads and ad-blocking functionality can be easily enabled.
Based on Qt framework and Apple's WebKit rendering engine (also used by Apple Safari).
Security note: development of this browser appears to have stalled and the software may be subject to security vulnerabilities.

I think that the new release 2.35 is nagware and writes rubbish in the registry... The settings are saved locally, and the size of the application is about 2 MB.

Well, I was using that kind of software on my Windows95 back in the 90's and I must say that it REALLY HELPED A LOT. I first got the registry cleaned of unnecessary entries and then defragmented them, making the registry files [USER.DAT and SYSTEM.DAT - I think :-) ] MUCH SMALER, resulting in better performance in overall. I hope this is gonna be what I get after trying this stuff for the first time "outside" the W95, wish me luck ;-D |

It allows you to capture anything on the screen including windows, objects, full screen, rectangle regions, freehand-selected regions and scrolling windows/web pages. It has innovative features such as a floating Capture Panel, hotkeys, resizing, cropping, text annotation, printing, e-mailing, screen magnifier and many more.
Reported to function in Windows 7 and in Linux under WINE.
Note: FastStone Capture went payware starting from v5.4 so I have made the last freeware version available (v5.3) for direct download as the license agreement does not prohibit redistribution.

@jimdorey: I'm a little confused why we had a listing that this works with Win10 -- it really doesn't. When this version of the program stopped being developed, Win7 wasn't even out yet. Anyway, I recommend trying another software package for that OS. I've updated the entry.

@jimdorey: v5.3 works fine on my win 10 x64 using a 1080p screen resolution. Maybe you're using a high DPI screen/4k monitor, and only the last version (8.4, payware, but worth every penny) works fine in that case.

ClipSecure is a simple text and file encryption utility that uses automatic compression and many industry-standard algorithms, including AES. The text encryption operates within the Windows clipboard, and therefore can be used within any text-based program and most email clients. I have been using ClipSecure for over a year now, and I love it. I use it for my emails with my family and to secure my confidential documents on my portable USB dive when I travel. I keep a copy on the drive and load it onto any computer I use at any net cafe. I am not a sophisticated user, and it is very convenient and user friendly for me. |
