Is "Recuva v.1.53.2078" an online installer?
Upon download, it says it can install now?

Hi guys. I am a developer of this free tool. Let me clarify the 'hard drive' recovery. The software is able to restore accidentally deleted files from built-in hard disk drives as long as two the following conditions are met:

1. The file was deleted recently and no writing was made on the volume after that

2. Follows from 1. If you delete a file from a system volume (e.g. C:\), there are little chances to restore it because the OS is constantly writing on this volume (logs, registry branches, etc).

Excellent product. Recovered two files from flash memory. Simple and efficient, and no installation

Rolf on 2011-02-05 19:04

Odd The download says it is Version V1.2.0.0
but its size is 387KB. why? I have a 2009 copy
of V1.2.0.0 which is the correct size 272KB.
Andy can you explain. Looks a bit dodgy

Can recover delete note(s), import text (.txt) file(s), import Outlook exported .csv file and Toodledo Notebook .csv file.

Path portability: Automatic relative path (eg. ..\..\personal\work.doc)

Optionally, to save each note as an individual text file (the default database file is not easily readable by other programs), create a folder (e.g. Notes) and enter the name of that directory into the File Directory blank under the Storage tab (relative pathways like ..\Notes work fine). Existing notes in this folder will be automatically added.

Why is MailPassView listed as a Similar/alternative app? MailPassView's function is much narrower. It only recovers passwords from email clients, and does not look for product keys. recALL recovers passwords from many different classes of program and also finds license keys. You don't even put the two programs in the same category. You have recall listed under Security - Product Key Recovery, while you have MailPassView under Security - Password Recovery.

TestDisk is a powerful drive and data recovery software that is designed to help recover lost partitions and/or make non-booting disks bootable again. This can be caused by faulty software, certain types of viruses, or of course human error (such as accidentally deleting your partition table).

The program is cross-platform with recovery tools for a long list file systems and includes the also-portable recovery software PhotoRec.

Note: Use with caution; it's recommended that you read the documentation and take your time. The software can easily made dramatic and difficult-to-reverse system modifications.
