This latest version doesn't seem to work in XP. Last version working is 6.1.2.13797

dmiranda on 2024-03-15 16:21

The newest version at this time (6.3.2) works again in windows XP.

WinSCP v6.3.3 continues to work with XP. I think it's fair to think support has been effectively restored.

CurrPorts v2.77

Andrew Lee on 13 Dec 2023
  • 130KB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 12 Dec 2023
  • Suggested by Andrew Lee

CurrPorts displays the list of all currently opened networking ports on your local computer. For each TCP/IP and UDP port in the list, information about the process that opened the port is displayed, including the process name, full path of the process, version information of the process (product name, file description and so on), the time that the process was created and the user that created it.

In addition, CurrPorts allows you to close unwanted TCP connections, kill the process that opened the ports and save the TCP/UDP ports information to HTML file, XML file, or to tab-delimited text file. The program will automatically mark with pink suspicious ports owned by unidentified applications (applications without version information and icons).

I like this program. I recently used it to notice some suspicious looking port activities. I was able to close the ports down and then turn them to stealth using my firewall program. Then I used this program again and everything has looked normal ever since then. So I think this program may have helped me to stop some hackers or malware. All of my own internet activities and programs work normally so I really do think this program helped me stop something bad from happening.

CurrPorts v2.50 rel 12-MAR-2018
Noteworthy new function for the paranoïd among us :... ;-)

Port egress|ingress data size capture
("Sent Bytes" "Sent packets" "Received Bytes" "Received Packets")

Remember to activate two crucial options:
• select an "Auto Refresh" frequency
• tick "Collect send/receive Bytes"

Baas: no prob, thanks for direct-linking the 32 and 64-bit versions. Adding a notice about the adware version.

TP109 on 2014-09-05 05:39

In spite of the adware issues, I think this is the easiest-to-use and to setup CPU temperature application. It's on all my PCs and I've never had a problem with it. Just set it and forget it. The digital temperature display in the system tray is very visible and useful when resource-heavy apps are running. I'm surprised this isn't rated higher.

@siegfried: I confirm your findings, even after adding a "configdir=" key with a relative path.

I'm not sure the program isn't portable like that, but it sure isn't stealth. In my defense, the method I mentioned was working in prior versions (see above). I posted the issue in KiTTY's forum: http://www.9bis.net/kitty/?action=forum&id=0653 ... :(

BTW, this update (and the lack of changelog thereof) is probably caused by a version and code synch with PuTTY, which was prompted by a newly found vulnerability patch:

"2015-11-07 PuTTY 0.66 released, fixing a SECURITY HOLE
PuTTY 0.66, released today, fixes a security hole in 0.65 and before: vuln-ech-overflow."

I have been unable to upgrade Kitty since version 0.73.2.13, on W10 Pro 64-bit v1909. I get a 'This app can't run on your PC' error message. Anyone else having this issue?

AdrianK_IT on 2020-05-19 11:44

a. I have discovered there now is a version of Kitty v0.73.2.16 in Portable Apps format (https://portableapps.com/apps/internet/kitty-portable) and
b. Bizarrely, it works perfectly!

"Runs on: Win7 / Win8 / Win10": it does not. I could not get any of the versions from 12 to 14 to run on my Windows-8 laptop.

Today, I came across this note:
"Beeftext uses the Qt framework that drop support for Windows 7 and Windows 8 with the release of Qt 6. Beeftext 11.1 is the last version to run on Windows 7 and Windows 8 (all variants)."
