CubicExplorer is a customizable Explorer replacement that supports bookmarks, themes, and multiple tabs. "Sessions" can be set with various customizations set to a particular setting (e.g. a picture folder set to thumbnails, a logs folder set to "details" and a program folder with desktop-like icons), and multiple sessions can be set for different folder sets based on tasks such as work, home, play, etc.
Unlike similar programs, CubicExplorer is built for ease-of-use and ability to adapt to your environment rather than a broad feature set, but includes some advanced features such as filtering, file preview, search, a built-in text editor with syntax highlighting support, and more. Multiple instances of the program can be run simultaneously.
Note: main site offline; linking to archive.org. Alternatively, CubicExplorer Portable adjusts paths in settings, bookmarks and sessions.

Outstanding file manager for when you constantly work with a set list of folders. The tabbed interface, bookmarks, and ability to save sessions makes navigating folders easy and simple. I would have great difficulty on Vista/Win7 without it.

Portable version on authors site does not write to the registry at all-I like the stack feature as I can drag files there and then drag them to a folder on my external drive,a little buggy but very useful-could not live without it!

Very nice file manager. Really nice interface. A little buggy at times, but overall very good. I like the fact you can build your own tree via categories in the left menu, rather than the default c drive tree view others have. Means I can have only relevant folders showing. |
