VideoCacheView automatically scans the entire cache of Internet Explorer/Microsoft Edge, Mozilla-based Web browsers, Opera, Chrome-based Web browsers and finds all cached media files. It allows you to easily copy the cached audio and video files into another folder for playing/watching them in the future. For video, if you have a player that is configured to play FLV files, it also allows you to play the video directly from your browser's cache.

System Requirements: Win2K / WinXP / Vista / Win7 / Win8 / Win10
Writes settings to: Application folder
Stealth: ? Yes
Unicode support: Yes
License: Freeware
How to extract: Download the ZIP package and extract to a folder of your choice. Launch VideoCacheView.exe.
What's new?
  • Fixed to detect and merge the current video links of YouTube. Also, fixed a bug that caused VideoCacheView to include text or xml file related to the video stream inside the merged file, causing the merged file to be corrupted.
  • See the 'YouTube Videos' section for more information about working with YouTube files.

Works exactly as I had hoped (and as described). Easy to use. 2010-10-08 06:12

even easier . use Firefox and install add-on then click the small new icon in the bottom on every page now you can download almost everything :)
use the portable Firefox and you have all bookmarks etc with you at all times :)

this used to work well. unfortunately, either firefox or youtube has just changed the way it delivers the video so this no longer works. video is no longer stored in a temporary cache, i think. :((

If it is portable, how come it is displayed as an installed program in the control panel:

juvera: there's a version with install/uninstall support but the other one should be portable... should we retest?

Its worth noting that this also finds and allows extraction of Audio files (since version 1.40). Very nice
