Windows Registry Recovery v3.1.2 Updated

Ennovy on 14 Feb 2024
  • 2MB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 14 Feb 2024
  • Suggested by AlephX

Windows Registry Recovery allows to directly read files containing Windows registry hives and extract many useful information about the configuration and windows installation settings of the host machine.

Note that the program is not simply a registry editor: it works with other tools, including exported keys. It’s useful for seeing registry issues, sandboxing tools, and diagnostics. To your own computer's registry files, open a NTUSER.DAT system file but keep in mind that these are usually hidden by Windows to avoid accidental deletion.

I find it a good Program. Only one of its kind. You should know where your registry hives are.

TestDisk v7.2 Updated

Andrew Lee on 28 Feb 2024
  • 28MB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 22 Feb 2024
  • Suggested by AlephX

TestDisk is a powerful drive and data recovery software that is designed to help recover lost partitions and/or make non-booting disks bootable again. This can be caused by faulty software, certain types of viruses, or of course human error (such as accidentally deleting your partition table).

The program is cross-platform with recovery tools for a long list file systems and includes the also-portable recovery software PhotoRec.

Note: Use with caution; it's recommended that you read the documentation and take your time. The software can easily made dramatic and difficult-to-reverse system modifications.

Hello to all,
here is the PrivaZer Team.

Sorry for the issues you had. The cause was a change in Windows Update impacting the way it was cleaned.
It could lead, in some cases, to the problems you described.

It has been fixed for good in v3.0.47 released in May 2018

Sorry again, really, and we hope we can have you on board again...

Klard on 2021-12-22 12:28

I've been using PrivaZer for a few months now and I like it. Most of the time when something goes wrong it is Me, not the app.

The_PrivaZer_Team on 2022-01-02 11:12

Thank you Klard for your nice words.

PrivaZer cleans around 250,000 PCs every month.
As already explained, the issue reported here by FileHandler was fixed 3 YEARS AGO in 2018 !

I agree, for me CyberShredder is a better option.

Beeber on 2015-06-05 18:43

I use shredder.exe. It is less than 150kb and fast. As I work, I can move files to be deleted into a 'new folder', planted anywhere. When I am done, shredder.exe takes the 'new folder', and seconds later, it is gone. Loading individual files works fine, too.

LonerD on 2018-12-10 08:45

Unicode support- partially. Author doesn't want implement fully support. Some months ago I reported about bug - program can't work with Unicode file names from command line. No answer, no fix...

MultiPar v1.3.2.9

Andrew Lee on 3 Sep 2023
  • 2MB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 30 Aug 2023
  • Suggested by MarkyMark

MultiPar helps protect backups and transfers with error detection and recovery. The program looks at information from any number of files and folders to function as insurance against data loss. The program generates companion "PAR" files that are built from a percentage of the originals, using more space for greater protection (e.g. 10% of the original for already safe methods, 50% for frequent failures).

The program has a wide variety of customizations including format, processor usage, and various other tools available to the standard PAR format. For backups, it can also choose PAR size by available free space (e.g. saving a 3 gig file to a 4.7 gig DVD will mean generating a 1.7 gig PAR file).

Functional in Linux/Mac via WINE. The program supports multi-threading, multiple processors, can recurse subfolders, and functions with standard formats including PAR, PAR2, and (experimental) PAR3 formats.

Category:
Runs on:WinXP / Vista / Win7 / Win8 / Win10
Writes settings to: Application folder; however shell integration and filetype associations will write to the registry.

@shnbwmn: the .EU site's relationship to the .JP address is discussed at length in forums.

From the author of Multipar:
BEWARE: multipar . eu is a malicious spam site with altered versions of MultiPar.

You should remove all links to it to reduce the Google rating.

@Multiparuser: if you go to the page we link to when you click "website" you can see what the author has posted about the .EU mirror, which is encouraging caution. He does not call it a malicious spam site.

R-Undelete Home v6.7.180011

lwc on 24 Dec 2022
  • 57MB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 23 Nov 2022
  • Suggested by pplknownothin

R-Undelete recovers files from external USB disks, digital photo and video camera memory cards and other devices with the FAT (FAT12, FAT16, FAT32 and exFAT) file system. In addition, it also uses the scan for known file types, which makes R-Undelete an ideal solution for the recovery of lost digital photos, movies and music.

Note: the majority of Windows storage solutions use NTFS and ReFS, which can only be recovered with the pro version.

From their website: R-Undelete run in the free Home mode has no limitations for recovery from FAT partitions and also allows you to evaluate how the software recovers lost files from the NTFS file system, for which it has a limitation to recover files larger than 64KB. [filelist] can be previewed to estimate recovery chances before you upgrade the Home version for recovery from NTFS partitions

Seems that recovery from NTFS costs money and thus makes this application almost useless today.

Happy.Camper2 on 2018-04-21 01:47

I finally said to myself "Duuuuuuuuuuuuuh" ;)
Why am I wasting my time with downloading this app realising that this app is useless from a freeware point of view.
My above comment on 2017-08-25 20:17--that version never got
downloaded & I have ceased wasting my time.
I don't know for a fact that this app has always been so restrictive because I came in late on finding this app.
Perhaps if there's an earlier version for Vista that someone knows about, thats less restrictive, maybe you could share that with us.
Have a nice weekend everyone.

Guido76 on 2018-06-28 02:26

I agree Happy.Camper2's comment.
This software have a huge limitation as a freeware, and it is a wasting time to try it.
Please, stop to promote this apps !

WebBrowserPassView v2.12

WebBrowserPassView is a password recovery tool that reveals the passwords stored by Internet Explorer, Firefox-based and Chromium-based Web browsers. This tool can be used to recover your lost/forgotten password of any website, including popular Web sites, like Facebook, Yahoo, Google, and GMail, as long as the password is stored by your Web Browser.

Currently, WebBrowserPassView cannot retrieve the passwords if they are encrypted with a master password.

To work with Chrome and Opera portable versions, go to 'options' and set the location of the portable browser folder. Select the user data folder in Chrome, and wand.dat for Opera. (Thanks to user "deer".)
