mp3DirectCut is a small tool for editing MPEG audio directly. You can remove parts, change the volume, split files or copy regions to new files, all without the need to decompress your MP3 into PCM/WAV. This saves work, encoding time and disk space. In addition, there is no quality loss to edited files.

The new "flat" design with similar monochrome icons is a step back in usability. Normal appearance, apart from grouping of toolbar buttons, can be restored under Configuration -> Layout.

The program is a good tool for trimming old MP3 encodes without incurring further quality loss. Glitches are avoided if the MP3 is upconverted to 320 kbit beforehand with MP3Packer.

I wish it also supported common simple video soundtrack formats.

AT ITS SIZE, nothing is like this! so powerful

Its similar to AviTricks Classic for Avi editing, but for audio files. Using a 3rd "tiny" app, Avi2wav, these together are 2mb worth of just stupid levels of "professionalism"

...If your only audio editor was this little guy, you could PULL A LOT OFF
