QZoom is full screen zoom and operation tool similar to the default one included with Mac OS X. You can zoom into the screen and out using customizable hotkeys or the mouse scroll wheel.

Love this program but had serious slow down problems on to Vista Ultimate 32-bit machines. Still useful -- just had to only use keyboard controls rather than the ctrl+mouse-scroll.
AFAIK the configuration can be changed by right clicking
the tray icon and changing the settings, including the use
of the escape key.
I want to point out that the program Qzoom, once launched, disables the Escape key.

truly, ZoomIt is fast and allows to annotate with text and drawing with a pen, but... it shows a static capture of the screen
For Windows, there is a MS program: ZoomIt on Microsoft Technet. It is faster and have more function.
Always wanted this! Thanks!

which stated "4. It does add itself to the start menu but you can right click and uncheck that option pretty easily."
I found that it put a link in the startup folder when it is first run (and settings.ini is empty). To be truly portable, the portable version should have this option OFF by default IMHO.
