I was suspicious at the beginning, but after seeing screenshot, prior to installing it and after I dit it, I can say it's damn good software. The best timer I've ever seen. Too shame it's title doesn't mention a word "scheduler" because Marxio Timer is far more than just a simple timer as we see on the internet.

Mark 2009-08-05 08:30

I am often suspicious of software like this because ittends to be either too simple, too plain, or simply does not work as advertised.
This, however, is absolutely fantastic!!
Kudos to the developer and to the site for posting this.

I don't like installers, but most of them are only in one version. This one, however, has additional "portable version", and application itself is fantastic - completely different from what we see on websites under timer phrase. This one surely deserves a medal as it's not a timer, but also an advanced scheduler.

sharpi 2009-08-09 21:06

Probably the best timer, reminder, scheduler (or how it should be named) program created so far.

mikka 2009-08-09 21:09

This tool is very handy and it's better than a lot of payware

Mike 2009-08-15 23:41

Very useful application if you cannot install any software on some machines and need to use only portable tools.

noname 2009-08-18 08:27

Good choice if you want only one, all-in-one tool.

Bill 2009-08-23 13:00

I agree with the other comments. This is by far the best scheduler/timer I've ever tried. Easy to understand and it works!

Check out SwizzTool. Takes a little bit of time to learn but is very nice. I've been using it for about a year now. Still need to go donate to the project.

Beau 2009-08-24 12:41

Googling SwizzTool results in many McAfee Site Advisor warnings. One says "7 red downloads" and "linked to red". Not sure if this is valid but I'll stay away from it until proven otherwise.

Marxio Timer is alive. I just gained "contributor" status and got version 1.12 (2009-10-06). You only have to contribute to this project somehow as the author said to me when I got version 1.9.1 yesterday from their website and wanted to go to latest one (1.12)
Anyway, I agree with you Bill - very easy to use and the best I have ever seen of its type.

YK 2009-10-15 21:17

This is not freeware. After installing it informs you that this is not the latest version. If not donating for getting the latest version you won't be allowed to use it.

Carlos 2009-11-08 14:56

It's not commercial. I just send some suggestions to the authors and received password to download the latest versions. I did not pay anything. They say on website that to get a so called "contributor status" one must suggest something new, report a bug OR donate so you see it's NOT required.
One more thing as I really like their software. Over time they make "contributors versions" available to public. Please read their website first before writing such comments.

Died. RIP

17th November 2009

Unsupported software projects die. This project is no more developed, improved, supported. Thanks for using it. "

Can someone post a link to the latest portable version? Thanks.

Andrew Lee 2009-11-19 21:15

V1.11.1 is still available on CNET Downloads. I have updated the download link to reflect that.

Carl 2009-11-20 01:01

Noooooo! It is too good to disappear. The best reminder-scheduler tool for Windows I ever seen since my first PC. Just checked their "suspended projects" page - they had a vision, excellent vision of quite useful tools, but I'm still wondering why they want to discontinue it!
To surveyork - homepage shows little different text - "...This project is currently no more developed nor improved because of some limitations. Thanks for using it.
If you have questions, email me. ". Look at the word "currently" - for me, it means some pause in project, only temporary problems. I might be wrong, but it would be great if I were right.

V1.12.2 is available! I started a new topic with links.

Devski 2010-01-20 05:10

It is no longer freeware and also no longer available. The author is scamming people for donations.

Jean 2010-02-07 23:41

Could anyone post a link to some previous version ? I've seen screenshots and I've been looking almost everywhere to grab some previous version.
Devski - do you have some problem with reading ? What scamming ? The author clearly stated that he cannot produce newer versions, but you were too lazy to read TWO post below, to find out that the latest version of Marxio Timer had some problem. What problem ? I can send you version 1.12.2 and you will understand me, but's easier to accuse someone than to read more and understand someone problem.
Btw, why do you say it's no longer freeware ? I see it as donationware application on every website and author promised to release newer versions once he receives some donations to buy programming stuff. If you dont understand what donationware is all about then I highly recommend you to stay away from it as you will be always unhappy with such software licensing. For me, the information published on the main page is better than none. But you still search for something...Suspicious or jealous ? offence, but I'm just tired of such comments on PF

Onesimus Prime 2010-02-11 07:52

The author has taken down his programs again. Though there is apparently a version 1.12.3, the most recent download I could find is 1.12.2 at

Damian 2010-04-02 18:05

Did a thorough search for the illusive version 1.12.3 and found nothing then realised that it's reported as being 927KB on the sites that list it.

Version 1.11.0 is also 927KB so I'm wonderingif it may be the same (being unable to find version 1.12.3 I cant get the exact file size to tell for sure).

So if you want version 1.11.0 get it at Snapfiles

(1.12.2 is available at Softpedia but I get that error...)

Ruby 2010-04-03 04:12

Just downloaded from the SnapFiles link Damian shared, it's actually 1.11.1 (on mouseover of exe) which, according to the changelog, came 4 days after 1.11.0 and is a bug fix for high cpu usage on Windows 7.

After extraction; to make portable, create 3 new folders Config, Schema and Screenshot in Marxio's directory.
Create a 'local.dat' file in the Data directory.
Run Marxio Timer, dismiss the new version download (if applicable).
Go to Options>Global settings and uncheck the option to 'Check for updates automatically'
Exit Marxio Timer, all files will now be kept in the newly created subfolders.

brenda 2010-05-27 21:10

I use Marxio Timer since version 1.10 and indeed, its the best scheduler I I've ever had - woman speaking :)
Don't say bad words about developers. They often try to give you something for free, but suddenly they realize that costs ate them. Just like working for and helping people. Cash was gone, then project was gone too. Version 1.12 says Donationware and not freeware, so I might suspect that nobody was interested in supporting it, so it has been shut down.
I have version 1.12 because previous ones stopped working - some date conversion error occurred. I can send you that one. brendac320 at gmail

Daniel 2010-07-22 19:11

I just installed & ran 1.12 from several sources and each time got that error. Then I downloaded 1.11 from the Snapfiles link, installed it, and it runs fine. Now to uninstall it and try Ruby's steps for making it portable.

torentofano 2010-07-29 19:29

Yep, it looks this project is over, but I partially agree with author. If you create donationware software and don't get any donation within a year and you only spend you own money, then what is the sense of such project ? My personal opinion is that USERS are guilty this project ended in this way. It looks that they didn't want this project to be alive. Put youself in developer's place. You earn money and throw them away by buying some software or paying for hosting ? It makes no sense. What you receive in return ? I tried to donate $5 (I'm student) but developer said he no longer expects any donations so Devski, you criticise someone without any proof or just simply lie...

Saleh 2010-09-09 01:00

@torentofano: That's rater a funny logic. If the author was really desperate for money, he should simply turn it into shareware instead of donationware. Funny enough, the author website is still online he is still paying yet he claims that maintenance costs "ate" the project.

I do think that this software is amazing and very practical but the marketing approach is rather very flawed.

donald 2010-09-09 02:44

@Saleh Please note that is not the Authors website.

deltaf 2010-09-10 20:49

Top level software,
really complete and easy to use at the same time.
Congratulations to the developer.

Daniel 2010-09-16 17:41

I found a number of old versions of this app at

I've heard that 1.12 was a timebomb, and so I'd presume that any of the 1.13 versions I've seen references too are also such. So it seems 1.11 is the last "good" version. No standalone zips though, and the installer needs administrative privileges, so I can't run this installer at work :(

Whizzy 2011-01-01 05:45

Had problem with 1.13 like everyone else with the error

Found this Portable Marxio Timer version that works though

myzdoxae 2011-01-07 22:55

I enjoyed the program, and used it for a while, then I forgot about it. I felt a need to run it, so started it back up. It had worked just fine for a while here, but it popped up that error, "Encode date error."
BTW, the version that I had installed was 1.12.2

Looking at the projects website:
It shows an "improvement" that was to be removed from a future version, although I don't know if it was ever implemented or done...
That 'feature'?
-> 60 days time limit called AntiBug system

I altered the date, and was able to run the program without any dialog or popup. Timebugs :(

freakazoid 2011-10-17 18:32

Link for v1.11.1 is dead.

pkl9kpl 2013-03-13 01:35
