This is a fantastic program. Lots of options, tools, brushes, layer support. Kudos.

Pretty light-weight painting and image manipulation program. For me, it has just the right balance between feature-richness and ease of use. Thumbs up!

why not use the gimp portable?
why is an other imp needed again?

Followed your directions and it works. Cool. I couldn't get the X-wrapper of last version to work. Seems cool. Doe this have much different, or better functionality compared to GIMP? I'm learning that program slowly with the help of meetthegimp.org screencasts. Seems like some stuff is similar, similar code, which is good for newbies like myself. This, GIMP, Inkscape, XnView, OO --- laptop loves this website!

When trying to install this programme on my USB stick, I'm told that I have to have administrator rights of the computer I'm working on to be able to do it. How can this programme be portal then?

Charlee 2007-12-27 22:20

This is a good program, since I have knowledge with Adobe Photoshop, I found this to be very similar to it. I think of it as a good slim down alternative of photoshop =)

Numanoid 2008-03-14 12:14

I downloaded and extracted the Portable zip package, but to be able to run the programme I had to rename the file "Default Nozzles.tmp" found in the "Standard\Nozzles" directory to "Default Nozzles.noz"

The programme looks fantastic though, like a freeware Photoshop :-)

Numanoid 2008-03-14 12:18

I just noticed that the file I had a problem with is indeed named by the right name in the zip directory ("Default Nozzles.noz"), so why did it change it's name when I extracted it?

Charlee 2008-08-23 21:44

Still the BEST and getting BETTER AND BETTER!!! oh and...hushpuppies? NO THANKS!!! The GIMP SUCKS!!

Andy 2008-09-05 18:45

Having learned on Photoshop, I definitely prefer Artweaver to GIMP.

Ztormbringer 2008-09-16 16:09

Every time I run this program, from a USB stick or from the My Documents folder of the host computer it crashes (i.e. hangs) and then will not cannot be closed or ended not even with the Widows close program prompt and Windows always pops up to say it has a problem and must close but it does not and will not.

this applications is very nice alternative to Photoshop on basit edittings. I find it much more useful than gimp. is is also much smaller and faster than gimp.

This is NOT portable anymore... I will wait until the portable version comes out.

Tom 2009-11-17 15:43

@RonFan there never was any portable version.
You need to use Universal Extractor (*) to make a "somewhat" portable installation all by your own.

(*) I tried to extract it with 7z instead of UE but it didn't work for the current installer.

fsr 2009-12-19 20:12

i'm running 1.06 with extraction method above and after a couple of seconds using it, application crashes - literally window is GONE. anyone has this issue? i see Ztormbringer has a slightly different issue

fsr 2009-12-19 20:22

oops, my mistake, i had some conflict with hips module; no problems at all using version 1.1 (checked in about dialog)

foxcole 2010-11-14 21:27

I can't extract the exe file with Universal Extractor. I get an error:
"Signature detected: Inno Setup Setup Data (5.2.4)
This is not directly supported, but i'll try to unpack it as version 5110
; Version detected: 5204
Critical error: The setup files are corrupted. Please obtain a new copy of the program.
Unpacking failed. This version is not supported."

How can I extract it, then?

ishldgetoutmore 2011-12-07 21:49

I used Universal Extractor to open the installer, then copied the {app} folder to my PortableApps directory on my USB drive. I renamed it to Artweaver and created the .ini file. Seems to run just fine! I guess the {embedded} directory contains license files and so forth; not necessary to run the program. Very nice!

V3.0

dany 2011-12-08 00:06

@foxcole: click the link in 'how to extract.', you need to replace bin/innounp.exe with the latest version, yours only supports versions up to 5.1.1. Innounp version 0.36 supports unpacking version 5.4.2 Inno Setup installers.
Worked for me.
