Password Safe is a database for encrypting sensitive information. Once opened with a master password, you can copy a password and paste it directly into your application. Alternatively, Password Safe supports "Auto Type" that enters the username and password into the target application by simulating keystrokes.
The database is encrypted using the Twofish encryption algorithm. A Linux version (currently in Beta) is also available from the website.
Alternatively, Password Safe Portable and the outdated X-Password Safe are stealth.

This version does not run on XP. The last version that did is 3.38.02, which can be accessed from sourceforge through the download page on the pwsafe.org site. There was some suggestion last year that 3.40 might be fixed to run on XP, but not so far, it seems |
UnityPDF is a PDF manipulation software that allows you to drag-and-drop a series of documents and then order them before processing. Available operations include merge, split (one file per page), divide (split by file size or by X sections), extact/insert pages, rotate. You can also set usage permissions (allow printing or modification) with password-protection and options to view or remove file metadata.

I had to merge some PDF files just now and the usual app I use, PDFTK Builder, popped up an error for the first time since I've used it. |
BulletsPassView, which is the successor of an old "Asterisk Logger" utility, is a password recovery tool that reveals the passwords stored behind the bullets in the standard password text-box of Windows operating system and Internet Explorer Web browser. After revealing the passwords, you can easily copy them to the clipboard or save them into text/html/csv/xml file.

I'm a bit irritated by this, and a number of other recent programs, where the '64-bit' version downloads a zip file with 'x64' in the filename, however the executable contained within doesn't have 'x64' in the filename, but has the same name as the 32-bit version. Is the executable file within 32-bit, or 64-bit?

@AdrianK_IT & dany: The easiest way is analysing the file with PeStudio (http://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=1950). |
X-Pass reveals the content of almost any password field, revealing the text behind those asterisks.

@tomcat: I have edited the entry and made a copy of the program available for local download. |
Strong Passwords Need Entropy is entropy calculator, password's strength and survivability checker and a strong password generator. The program analyzes your password and displays statistics about its length, character frequency, symbols, lowercase+uppercase letters, and digits. Based on this information, it calculates the password entropy, or the number of trials needed to find it and the time to crack the password.
Note that this analysis doesn't take into account "dictionary attacks" or use of words. For example, "ambassadorconjure" is long but not necessarily hard for a computer to guess.
