Just downloaded this app on a Windows 7 Professional machine and a Windows XP SP3 machine. It popped up on both machines with a peripheral error then quit.

The latest version is best avoided! Completely freezes on startup, hard restart required. Also, disabling update check on startup has no effect, does it every time!

The download link is dead. The program can be downloaded from Softpedia: |
LAN Speed Test (Lite) measures local area network transfer speeds by writing a file of any size to a folder of your choice, then clearing Windows' file cache (otherwise read times would be skewed). Next, it reads the file back, clears the cache again, deletes the file, and finally displays the results.

DPC Latency Checker is a must have in any computer debugging toolkit for its ability to highlight arcane system problems; it won't fix them, but will assert their existence beyond reasonable doubt. |
Battery Eater is a testing tool intended to reveal the potential of a notebook battery pack. Battery Eater can measure the minimum operation time of a notebook (when all power-saving options are disabled) under conditions close to the maximum workload (Classic mode). Battery Eater will show a result closest to the maximum possible in the "Idle" and in the "Reader's Test" mode (when all power-saving options are fully enabled).
Battery Eater also draws the battery discharge graph where you can see the dynamics of the charge level.

This very tiny application works very well and can be used even to determine if your USB ports are USB 1 or USB 2 - I have 4 USB 2 ports and 6 USB 1 and I did not know which was which. |
Drive Speed Checker benchmarks the read, write and seek speed of your disk drives.
