Key Launch is a keyword-based program launcher. It creates an index of the files in a list of user-defined folders that allow you can quickly locate and launch any application or document by pressing Ctrl-Q. It also supports aliases, special commands (eg. http:, mailto:, callto: etc.) and a built-in calculator.
Portability: The program provides an \utils subfolder indexed automatically by default. You may optionally edit folder.ini to include relative paths or drive-less absolute paths for scanning. Use the variable, %drive%, to create portable aliases. More info.

Hmm, could we have a new contender in the program launchers category and give Executor some competition?
Will give this a try.
Here is version 2.0:

Hi,
Current version (1.81) now supports environment variables, like %DRIVE% and a few others. More: http://www.konradp.com/products/keylaunch/help/#Portability
No, you aren't missing anything, there's no way to do this - but that's a good idea and I think I'll implement this. Thanks!
"Poor support for path portability" means I couldn't find a way to create aliases (that points to EXEs on a USB memory stick) that will work even when the drive letter changes. I may be missing something in the documentation, and if so, I will be delighted to know how to do it.
Hi, does anybody know what does this mean:
"Key Launch has rather poor support for path portability" ? It caught my interest...
Is this about using environment variables in aliases, like e.g. "%start menu%\programs\..." ? Is there an application which implements this idea so I can look at it?
Konrad, the author.
Consider Launchy as an alternative if this doesn't work out for you. I have been using launchy for a while now and can't imagine giving it up.
Good program but some downsides:
* Big memory hog - uses between 10 and 16 megs of RAM for a very simple program.
* Doesn't restrict to just EXE or program files - looks at absolutely every type of file.
* Couldn't seem to change the hotkey to activate it. CTRL+Q is a bad hotkey since its usually a "quit" key.
No sorry, it worked fine for me.
Okay, just took a look at the features list. It doesn't offer hotkey support to launch programs like Executor does. But the program is quite powerful, just not as powerful as Executor ;)
