UPX is a tool that can significantly reduce the size of both EXEs and DLLs, allowing more programs to be packed onto a USB drive. No additional software is required for the compressed EXEs or DLLs to work. An additional benefit is a potentially faster loading program due to fewer read cycles to load the EXEs/DLLs. UPX Tool is a GUI wrapper for UPX for the command-line intimidated.
There is an unofficial update created by Lupo PenSuite (UPX Tool+ 1.1.1) that can be download here. The main advantage is that it works with UPX 3.0 (LZMA compression).

Download the ZIP package and extract to a folder of your choice. The version of UPX included in bin\upx.exe is not the latest version, so you may wish to replace it with the latest version from the UPX website. Launch UPXTool.exe. Note that I have included a direct download of UPX Tool packaged with the latest version of UPX. Just click on the "Download" link above. |

UPX tool is just too simple for me. I've been using Free UPX. http://www.pazera-software.com/products/free-upx/ (also portable with nice features.)

@a: Isn't Free UPX just another graphical front end for UPX? So, should you be saying "UPX Shell is just too simple" rather than UPX Tool? Just curious.

@a: Just tried Free UPX. It's neat. Likewise, I prefer it to UPX Shell because it provides more options / information on the main screen. Good heads up on that. Thanks.

Just remember that programs compressed using UPX will get reported as a virus by some anti virus software.
Have to love false positives and lazy programmers.
