OSFMount is a collection of virtual drive tools that allows mounting local disk image files as a drive letter, RAM disks and mounting CD or DVD images (for simplicity or speed). Supported image types include IMG, DD, ISO, BIN, NRG, SDI, AFF, AFM, AFD, VMDK (used by VMware), VHD (Virtual PC) and more.
The program is ideal for machines without a CD/DVD drive and, as most images are bit-for-bit copies of disk partitions, many programs will treat them as the real thing, enabling programs that require a program disc. For disk images, the program can give access to these files without booting or other required visualization software. RAM disks have a variety of uses including high speed caches, programs with frequent/intense disk reads/writes and some database applications.
Command line tools are also included.
Note: The developer warns: "it is recommended that 64-bit Windows is used when large disk image files are to be mounted."

v2.0.1001
@Midas CDmage works like a charm unlike PassMark OSFMount despite "being ancient". Nothing ancient about it. PassMark OSFMount couldn't detect my image file properly as @freakazoid experienced. In fact very few free portable mount tools could handle my image file properly. I'm surprised you don't use CDmage to mount......
v1.5.1015
whenever i try to mount an image (different formats), the message 'wrong parameter' appears and the new drive is not selectable? i am using the 64bit version and have admin rights.
any hints what might cause this?
i might be wrong, but it seems like this is the only up to date portable virtual cdrom software for win8.1?
v1.5.1015
@freakazoid: CDmage is ancient, I'm surprised someone even uses it anymore... :)
v1.5.1015
So I needed to extract some audio from a .BIN file. OSFMount couldn't detect the image properly. What worked for me was CDmage. It's also stealth ;)
v1.5.1015
Registry keys still present with the current version. :(
Regarding instructions: I would advise against deleting the HTML folder, since it contains the online help that gets called from several places in OSFMount UI -- plus, disk space spared is negligible (>500KB), a gain that could also be earned by UPXing the main executable...
v1.5.1015
I looked everywhere for something that could open a VMDK after VMware Fusion dumped it's disk mount tool a while back (it may have come back, I don't know). Here it was in freeware format, able to load as a separate disk the whole time. Sigh.
Also the RAM disk thing is cool.
v1.5.1015
both architecture's executable still says v1.5.1013?
v1.5.1014
Magibon, would you be willing to reupload your NSIS launcher? I've got a few projects it would be perfect for.
V1.5.1011
I tried to mount a .bin/.cue combination with OSFMount last night and it froze completely. Used up 30% of the CPU and disk I/O used up 1GB/sec. Windows Explorer wouldn't load as well. Had to do a hard restart to fix the problem.
Ended up using CDmage again to extract some files!
