Roadkil's Unstoppable Copier allows you to copy files from disks and CDs with problems such as bad sectors, scratches or that just give errors when reading data. The program will attempt to recover every readable piece of a file and put them back together. Using this method, most types of files can be made usable even if some parts were not recoverable in the end.

Way more informative than the standard copy. For a 20 GB file copied over a slow USB 1.0 - 12 mbps connection, a simple progress bar won't do. Microslop should take note.

I just discovered that despite what I said earlier, you can copy a single file. This is a must-have utility for rescuing DVD's with CRC errors, among other things.
One note: Fixing those CRC errors slows this program way down, so you might want to run it overnight on bad DVD's.

This is the only program I've found that's able to copy a DVD with those dreaded Cyclical Redundancy Check errors. My only complaint is that as far as I can tell, it won't allow you to copy just a single file; you have to copy everything in the directory. But at least it allows you to skip the currently copying file.

On my Windows7, this put an entry in the HKLM/Software/Virtual Store, then everytime I browsed a website with IE, I got a "Mother May I" message for Adobe Plug-In (multiple times per page). Maybe it puts an entry elsewhere in the registry that causes this. I did a System Restore to the restore point set before launching the executable and normal operation was restored.

XCOPY source destination /E /Q /H /C /Y
/C Continues copying even if errors occur.
/E Copies directories and subdirectories, including empty ones.
/Q Does not display file names while copying.
/H Copies hidden and system files also.
/Y Suppresses prompting to confirm you want to overwrite an existing destination file.

Ive had numerous emails from users saying Avast antivirus is picking up a virus in the Unstoppable Copier file. It appears this is a false positive caused by Avasts latest update. Im sending them a message to say "HEY FIX IT" so hopefully it should stop reporting this soon!

Deleted the win32 version 4.3 instal file without trying the program as avast reported "Swizzor" trojan.
^ My external hd is 3 years old, dunno why WD would use USB 1.0/1.1 instead of 2.0 !!
